The signified is the light, or the rays of light of red color, etc. The signifier is the entry, etc. The number is as previously stated, i.e., two hundred and twenty-five, etc. One should recite the mantra with all its parts complete. Now, in order to negate verbal recitation, (the text says:) "Meditation is indeed an obstacle, Yoga abandons external recitation, The meaning of the mantra is the Blessed One Vajra Holder, How does one recite the Vajra nature?" This means that the yogi who is attached to Vajra recitation should abandon external recitation, i.e., verbal recitation, and internal recitation. Because meditation is the characteristic of the completion stage, its obstacle is that it becomes a demonic hindrance. The recitation of the mantra is done in order to manifest the Blessed One Vajra Holder, but if the yogi himself has become the nature of Vajra Holder, then how does the yogi of the nature of irreversible Vajra recitation recite? The meaning is that one should not recite. This is the samaya of abiding in the generation stage, and if one abandons external recitation, then at that time one is not a vessel for the generation stage, because one has violated the samaya. In order to show an example, (the text says:) "After the elephant has been found, What is the use of looking for the elephant's tracks? After the mantra body has been realized, Why should one seek another?" This means that if a person who has lost an elephant has found it, then there is no need to look for the elephant's tracks. Similarly, if someone has become the mantra body, the great Vajra Holder himself, there is no need to look for other verbal recitations, etc. Now, in order to explain that the yogi of the generation stage desires the mantra body through invitation, etc., and to refute the attacks on the yogi of the completion stage, (the text says:) "Moreover, what Vajra Holder, A person endowed with the three unions, Would invite and request to descend? This is its true meaning, The yogi abiding in the generation stage, Thus requests to abide, etc." This means that its meaning is the samaya of the yogi abiding in the generation stage.

and wisdom, etc. The hero of samādhi-mind, generating a form endowed with three combinations. From the samādhi-mind hero, emanate a wheel of light. Therefore, from the Buddha-field, invite the wheel of wisdom, and with the mantra "ཛཿཧཱུཾ་བཾ་ཧོཿ" (dzaḥ hūṃ baṃ hoḥ, attraction, absorption, binding, control) attract, absorb, bind, and control. At the space of the forehead, with a mantra ending in "མུཿ" (muḥ), request its descent, and abide in its pride. Thus, doing and meditating day by day, ultimately one will manifest ultimate bodhi. This ritual is not on your side, but belongs to the previous verses. In order to answer this: with absorption, one invites; with swiftness, one requests descent; not both, then one requests to abide. Achievement without breath, unsurpassed achievement. Thus it is said. Here, absorption is inviting with the letter "ཨོཾ" (oṃ, Om), one should know that it is inviting the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the family of Vairocana. Similarly, swiftness is requesting the descent of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the family of Akṣobhya with the letter "ཧཱུཾ" (hūṃ, Hum) of the nature of rising, one should know. Similarly, not both, refers to requesting the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the family of Amitābha to abide with the letter "ཨཱཿ" (āḥ, Ah) of the nature of abiding, one should know. Since each letter possesses three natures, one should know the activities of inviting, etc. Here, in order to further explain its excellence, it is said: achievement without breath, unsurpassed achievement. Without breath refers to the neuter recitation separated from the breath of absorption, etc. From this, unsurpassed achievement, one will attain the achievement of Mahāmudrā. Therefore, on your side, inviting, etc., is accomplished through effort, and merely accomplishes the body of those with realization and mantras. On my side, since mantras and winds are inseparable, absorption, etc., are the very nature of the Tathāgatagarbha. For those abiding in one's own body, inviting, etc., is accomplished without effort, and is naturally accomplished, that is, from saṃsāra and nirvāṇa.
