Accumulated. The discriminations arising from inherent nature instantly seize it. Therefore, it is said thus. Among these, discriminations are all phenomena arising from virtuous, non-virtuous, and neutral minds. So, what are they like? Those arising from inherent nature are inherent nature itself. These inherent natures are also of three types: the inherent nature of wisdom, the inherent nature of skillful means, and the inherent nature of ignorance. Among these, the inherent nature of wisdom is detachment from desire, intermediate desire, great desire, and so on, which will be explained below as thirty-three. The inherent nature of skillful means is desire and intermediate desire, and so on, totaling forty. The inherent nature of ignorance is intermediate desire, and so on, totaling seven. These transform into one hundred and sixty during the night and day. These transform into all afflictions and sixty-two views. The divisions of the sixty-two views are: form is self, self is in form, form is in self, form and self are non-existent, and inseparable like firewood. Thus, if feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness are combined with these, there will be twenty views. These, when divided by the three times of past, present, and future, become sixty views. Adding the two views of permanence and annihilation, the total is sixty-two views. Therefore, afflictions, near afflictions, and so on, and all views are inseparable from the three inherent natures of wisdom, skillful means, and ignorance, and should be categorized within them. Therefore, all mental events are inherent natures themselves. The three consciousnesses bound by these inherent natures will wander in samsara. As it is said: Apart from the fundamental place, there is no other place for dancing. Due to the differences in various actions, where do sentient beings not dance? Therefore, it is said thus. These three consciousnesses are also mind, intellect, consciousness, and emptiness, extreme emptiness, great emptiness, and appearance, increasing appearance, near attainment of appearance, and wisdom, skillful means, ignorance, and detachment from desire, desire, desire.

Inferior and noble, sharp and mediocre, moon and sun, night and day, boundaries, women and men, and eunuchs, etc., all must be measured by these symbols. That is, one must purify with the previously taught sequence of mudras or the sequence of mantras, and the yogi will abide in the clear light of the mind, which is free from all characteristics of self-nature. In order to explain the order of the third stage, it is said, "Abide in the illusion-like samadhi." Regarding this, the generation stage, the vajra recitation, and the stage of focusing on the mind, these three can completely purify body, speech, and mind, and because they possess the fruit of past aspirations. Just as taught by the Great Lord, in order to abandon the aspect of annihilation, and in order to accomplish the benefit of beings in samsara, just like the Bodhi of the Shravakas, in order to completely abandon the truth of cessation, the yogi abides in the illusion-like samadhi. If one wants to know how the body of Vajradhara, which is as boundless as space and like Indra's rainbow, arises. The answer is, although consciousness has no inherent appearance, it is merely the nature of appearance. Regarding this, first, from the clear light of the mind, the image of rays of five colors appears, then it is like the appearance of the moon, then it is like the appearance of the sun, then it is like the appearance of twilight, all become one, and from this, the deity body of the nature of mind, possessing all excellent qualities, will arise. This is also approximately represented by twelve metaphors such as dreams and illusions, and this is the mind-nature body of the Buddha. If one asks, then how does formless wisdom appear as things such as hands? The answer is, because the appearance is not realized, the five aggregates such as form will not become objects of focus, and appearance is also the general dharma of wisdom. Therefore, whatever appears, that is the image of wisdom, because the absence of appearance transcends the image of wisdom. For the time being, the wisdom body should be combined with the twelve metaphors of illusion, and what is like Indra's rainbow is color.
