It is because of arising. Therefore, only consciousness appears as external objects in this and that form due to the power of habit. For example, like a dream. Therefore, the nature of the grasped and the grasper is only consciousness, which is the tenet of those who speak of consciousness with aspects. Since the aspects do not exist as before, there is no grasper because there is no grasped. The side of no aspects is also not reasonable. That is because the past and the future do not exist, and even the moment that occurs now does not remain, so it also does not exist. In order to explain one's own tenet, it is said, "The selflessness of phenomena and equality." The selflessness of all phenomena is the selflessness of both. Therefore, whatever equality there is, it is because of this reason that one's own mind has not arisen from the beginning, because it arises from interdependence. For this very reason, for "the nature of emptiness," it is shown that the mind of emptiness is not like false imputation and so on. As it is said, "Abandoning the object of meditation, the meditator, and the meditation, one sees the truth. Whoever knows that these are merely conceptualizations will be liberated." This is what is said. That is the meaning of self-luminous nature, the ultimate meaning. Then, offering a handful of flowers at the feet of the lama, in order to make offerings. Then, offer conforming offerings. One should offer to the lama precious houses, elephants and horses, land and mattresses, servants and maids, beautiful wives, extremely lovely daughters, and whatever one owns, let alone the rest. This is what is said. With two verses, one should offer the nature of giving, great giving, and supreme giving to the lama, as it is. In order to explain the means of gathering, for the teacher, one who has received kindness, is stainless, possesses steadfast wisdom, is the master of all things, is clear, pure, extremely subtle, the nature of supreme peace, the realm of Buddha's nirvana, non-dual, free from conceptualization, the nature of constant bliss, this is what the yogi should meditate on. Liberated from merit and non-merit, one's self here transforms into the Bhagavan Vajrasattva. This is what is said.

Gaining grace from the master means that the yogi who receives the oral instructions from the master will become the Bhagavan Vajrasattva himself, which is the connection of the words. What is it like? "Immaculate and steadfast wisdom" means having wisdom that is very clear and holds the Dharma. Likewise, in order to know the nature of all things, the nature of all things is that yogi himself, because he realizes the luminosity, he knows the Suchness of the three realms. If a yogi meditates on such Suchness, then he will know the nature of all things, otherwise he will not. What is that Suchness like? Clarity is the nature of mirror-like wisdom, purity is the nature of equality, extremely subtle is the nature of self-awareness, the nature of supreme peace is the nature of diligent accomplishment of deeds, and the realm of Buddha's Nirvana is the nature of the extremely pure Dharmadhatu. Similarly, non-duality is because appearance is non-dual, non-conceptual is because there is no close attainment, and the nature of constant bliss is the essence of luminosity. So, how should the yogi meditate? "Liberation from merit and non-merit" means being completely purified and free from all afflictive conceptualizations. That is because, like afflictions, complete purification is also just samsara, because it is the nature of being bound. As it is said: "Even for ultimate conceptualizations, the wise should not be attached." And "All views that are made, point to the extreme of emptiness." It has been said like this. For example, if wood is burned, it turns to ashes, and if cotton is burned, it turns to ashes. Similarly, with the fire of luminosity, if the lower, middle, and upper, as well as all afflictions, complete purification, and the nature of the unstated are burned, they will become its nature, because there is no difference between them. As it is said: "The fire of Nirvana destroys greatly, and not even ashes remain." It is also said in the Secret Accomplishment. What is that yogi like? Bhagavan means
