Oh! When do those individuals who are well-versed in the generation stage desire the completion stage? At that time, the Bhagavan taught them this method. How is it? It is taught as being like a staircase. That is to say, just as one climbs a staircase and reaches the top of a very tall mansion, so too, by means of the fourfold staircase of methods such as Vajra recitation, one will attain the supreme state of union. This is like the previous words of the complete Buddha, and is said to prevent self-fabrication. This is a non-intentional explanation. Now, in order to explain the suchness of wind and the suchness of mantra, and the nature and divisions of the wind that serves as the basis for Vajra recitation, it is said: 'The life of sentient beings, called wind, performs all thoughts. This is the mount of consciousness, fivefold in nature and also tenfold.' Thus it was taught. Among these, the so-called wind is the most excellent of the great elements, and therefore it is the basis of the suchness of wind and so on, this is the goddess of speech. But is that wind external or not? 'The life of sentient beings' means that it is the nature of life that has become the life of the six classes of beings, both with and without form. If it is satisfied, then they obtain the name of movement, otherwise not. Similarly, 'performs all actions' means walking, coming, contracting, stretching, floating, mannapa, climbing, going downwards, and so on, as well as arising, entering, abiding, and in short, abiding, sitting, sleeping, and walking. This is shown in the light of the nature of meaningful accomplishment, because it performs all actions. Similarly, all actions are pacifying, empowering, manifesting, expelling, intensely hating, and killing, and because it performs these, it is the performer of all actions. That is, whatever is done with the meaning of 'ya', those who desire accomplishment should engage in the meaning of going by means of the three, 'ra' and so on. This will be explained below. Is the wind different from or the same as consciousness?

If so, then "This is the mount of consciousness" means that this wind is the mount of the six consciousnesses that enter, and it is fourfold. Because consciousness rides on it and fully enjoys the six objects such as form through the gates of the six faculties such as the eye. Moreover, because consciousness relies on it and is driven by it. Otherwise, it would not see anything like a blind person. Therefore, just as a cripple and a blind person, if there is a connection between them, things can be accomplished. This can be explained as follows: Just as a horse and a rider walk on the road and complete a special task, if wind and consciousness are connected, they will have the ability to grasp objects. There is a connection of self-nature between them, like a tree and its bark. This alone shows the characteristics of wind. In order to show its classification, it is said to be "having five self-natures", that is, five kinds, namely life, action, downward elimination, equality with fire, upward movement and pervasive movement. Among them, the ten winds are described in the great yoga tantra called "Vajra Mouth". Among them, first of all, the classification of the dwelling places and the classification of the functions of the five root winds should be explained. Among them, the life wind is located in the heart, and is the nature of the Tathagata Akshobhya. The downward eliminating wind is located in the anus, and is the nature of Ratnasambhava. The upward moving wind is located in the throat, and is the nature of Amitabha. The wind equal to fire is located in the navel, and is the nature of Amoghasiddhi. The pervasive wind is located at the joints of all limbs, and is the nature of Vairochana. These should be understood in order as the nature of the five aggregates of consciousness, feeling, perception, formation, and form. The life wind is black, the downward eliminating wind is yellow, the upward moving wind is red, the wind equal to fire is green, and the pervasive wind is similar to blue. That is those

It is the color of mother! Water and sky, fire and, wind and also earth all, the nature of life and so on, should be known by those with intelligence. Thus, it is the pure aspect of the four great elements, tranquility and expansion, similarly, power and manifestation, all activities are shown, life and so on in order. This is the differentiation of actions. The functions of these will be explained: for the sake of going and for the sake of effort, by the thread of the sense gates, whatever constantly goes, is explained as 'life'. Wind and likewise, saying excrement and urine, bodhicitta and so on, acting downwards, purifying downwards, should be known by yogis. Food and chewing, residue, drinking, sucking, whatever equally leads, that is said to be the same as fire. For the sake of going upwards, for the sake of gathering, for the sake of eating food, fear, etc., that, combined with wisdom, is called the action of going upwards. Pervading and holding, going and coming, etc., because all the joints are pervaded, it is said to be 'pervading'. That is showing their actions. Thus, by the differentiation of location and action, the single life-wind is shown as five aspects. Again, in order to explain that it is also ten aspects, it is said to be ten. The five winds of the aggregates previously explained, and the five other nearby winds that rely on the senses. The five nearby winds are: upward-moving, pervasive-moving, correct-moving, extreme-moving, and correct-moving. Among them, the upward-moving wind dwells in the eye sense and performs the function of grasping form. The pervasive-moving wind dwells in the ear sense and performs the function of grasping sound. The correct-moving wind dwells in the nose sense and performs the function of grasping smell. The extreme-moving wind dwells in the tongue sense and performs the function of grasping taste. The definite-moving wind dwells in the body sense and performs the function of grasping touch, thus showing the differentiation of the location and function of the nearby winds. Those ten winds are the intention of the explanatory tantra of the glorious Guhyasamaja.
