That which is the illusion of illusion is just so, it is the ultimate meaning of that which precedes concealment. In order to explain the tenets desired by all speakers, cause and effect, the nature of being inseparable, the state known by yogis, that is the explanation of union. Thus it is said, the truth of arising is the cause, and the truth of suffering is the effect. Likewise, the path is the cause, and cessation is the effect, which is accepted by the Vaibhashikas. Consciousness is the cause, and all appearances are the effect. Similarly, the four conditions are the cause, and the intermediate arising from dependent origination is the effect, these are the tenets of the Yogachara and Madhyamaka schools. Those who abide in the Kriya Tantra consider the seed syllable to be the cause and the deity's form to be the effect. Those who abide in the Charya Tantra consider the body and so forth to be the cause, and attaining the state of Vajradhara to be the effect. Those who abide in the Yoga Tantra consider the ten suchnesses to be the cause, and manifesting the great mandala of the Vajradhatu and so forth to be the effect. Those who abide in the Mahayoga Tantra consider the two stages to be the cause, and attaining the sixth state to be the effect. Worldly people consider the difference between seeds and sprouts and so forth, that which possesses a cause is the designation of effect, which is only extremely well-known. Having understood that all these are non-different, and that yogis abide in non-abiding nirvana, that is the explanation of the stages of union, thus the words are connected. For what reason are cause and effect non-different, since they are pervaded by the nature of reality? To perceive them as different is only conceptualization. As it is said: There is no cause, and there is no effect, in reality there is no action, all these are not existent, there is no world and no worldly beings. Thus it is said, therefore cause and effect are inseparable, they are only the nature of emptiness, it is the ultimate of the general meaning that precedes. In order to explain the tenets of the two stages, the generation stage is one, and there is also the completion stage, where the two become one, that is union.

Explanation. Thus it is said, the order of union, the Bhagavan thus declared. What are the generation stage and the completion stage? Among them, the first, from union and so on to the lineage, is the generation stage, and the order of the arising of beings is the generation stage. Vajra recitation and so on, means and fruit, differences and the collection of the two paths, is the completion stage. If asked how these two stages become one? The answer is: the nature of the conventional and the ultimate, because they are not different. Non-difference is also established by nature, it is the ultimate of the common and the hidden preceding. In order to explain the two kinds of divine bodies in the second stage, the completely pure deity and, here, the impure transformation, whoever does not distinguish and understands, whoever is the united one. Thus it is said, here there are two kinds of divine bodies, namely completely pure and completely impure. Among them, the completely pure arises from the completion stage, what should be accomplished by the third and fifth stages. The completely impure is the order arising from egg-born, moisture-born, womb-born, and miraculously born, which is also well revealed in the abbreviated practice. Whoever knows that these two distinctions are not different is the stage of union, which is the ultimate of the common and the hidden preceding. In order to explain other aspects, form and formlessness, abandoning the two distinctions, whoever is the peaceful realized yogi, he is the one who attains union. Thus it is said, formlessness is space and consciousness. Form is the object of inner and outer self-nature, etc. These two distinctions are not in the stage of union, because the conventional and the ultimate are not different. Peace is because it is separated from the two distinctions, with self-nature pure, whatever yogi realizes, he is the one who knows the stage of union, as it is said. Likewise, form is mantra, wisdom, and the Vajra body, etc. Formlessness is
