Therefore, completely abandoning others, only the offering to the Guru is the most supreme. Because when the Guru is pleased, one can quickly attain the omniscient wisdom. It is also said in the "Hundred Thousand Verses" that relying on a virtuous friend can attain the Bodhi of the Buddha. In order to explain that offering itself, Having made offerings to the Vajrasattva, the teacher of unsurpassed Bodhi, Has he not accumulated merit? Has he not practiced austerities? Thus it is said. Merit is based on the five perfections such as generosity, and austerity is guarding the vows taught in the eight precepts of individual liberation and so on. There is nothing that that person has not done or practiced, only what has been done and practiced. Because only the Guru is Vajrasattva, unsurpassed is the most supreme, because offering is made to him. That offering is also to offer external resources to him, respecting the Guru, with listening to the Dharma as the priority. In order to explain that itself, That itself, the inexhaustible desire, Whatever is extremely joyful, The very special itself, That and that are offered to the Guru. Thus it is said. For a while, external things and so on will be exhausted, but if you want them to be inexhaustible, then you should offer those to the Guru. This shows the wise who have mastered all the perfections. What are those that should be offered? Whatever is extremely joyful refers to external elephants, horses, sons, and wives, and so on. Similarly, what is very special refers to one's own body, which should also be offered. In order to explain by what cause those are offered, The teacher steals sins, The teacher saves from the fear of the ocean of suffering. Thus it is said. The teacher is the one who practices with the special behavior of the world and beyond, and with his wisdom empowerment, he can steal the sins of the nature of Alaya consciousness and so on, because he has become the nature of the five Tathagatas such as Akshobhya. Similarly, fear is the nature of purity and impurity, and so on.

Eliminating conceptualizations is for the purpose of bestowing the secret empowerment. Similarly, the fear of the ocean of suffering is the collection of one hundred and sixty characteristics of attachment, detachment from attachment, and the nature in between attachment. Crossing over from that to the other shore is the empowerment of wisdom, and that is also the fourth suchness. It is said that from these, the self-luminous suchness arises by its own nature. Or, it is thought that attachment and so on and luminosity are mutually contradictory, or that these are its essence. Now, in order to discern the faults and merits of those disciples to whom the Dharma should not be given and to whom it should be given, it is said: "Whoever is piled up with pride, refutes the true order, and despises that very Dharma, this should not be taught to him." This is said because whoever is proud, saying, "I have received empowerments many times," likewise refutes the true order, such as the Vajra recitation, and likewise despises that very Dharma, that is, the causes that are mainly oral instructions, saying, "I myself have realized it, and I do not need a guru at all." The guru should not teach the order of blessings to the disciple who has such arrogance and faults. This is the literal meaning. In order to explain the qualities, the guru respectfully speaks truthfully, is extremely knowledgeable and has the same lineage, and guards the conduct of vows, the order should be taught to him. Know that it is said like this, the order should be taught to a disciple like this, this is the connection of words. What is that? Whoever speaks truthfully, has faith in the Vajra master, and likewise, the same lineage, that is, the measure of what is said once should be remembered until the end of life, because he has the wisdom to obtain the Dharma nature separately. Likewise, the order of blessings should be taught to him who guards the conduct of vows that should be guarded. In the "Commentary on the Five Stages: Clarifying the Meaning of the Stages," the third of "The Order of Blessing for Me."
