It is merely a cause. Thus it is said. The Sutras and Vinaya are those who speak of distinctions, etc., who have heard many times from many teachers, and whoever trains their mind, they think of themselves as wise, and whoever has not received the oral instructions from the Lamas, that person cannot even help themselves, let alone benefit others? Therefore, his treatises are merely a cause for discouragement, because it is for arguing about the treatises. Therefore, that will go beyond the benefit of oneself and others, that is, the meaning of words. As it is said: "He who has heard all the meanings, is very skilled in holding, but forgets in an instant, is called Utpalaka." "Even if one hears a lot of what should be taken, one does not have the power to show the way, like a cloth, wool, or seed in a vase, is called a lotus person." Thus it is said. In order to explain that becoming a vessel for the teachings of a disciple is also a precious person. Having heard many tantras and knowing the six places of knowledge, having memory and intelligence, firm mind, perfect diligence, respecting the feet of the Lama, and having received the transmission of that, the oral instructions of the King of Tantras, should be taught by him. Thus it is said. Like a precious person, he is able to teach the oral instructions of the King of Tantras to others. Previously, it was explained that becoming a vessel for oral instructions is self-explanatory. This verse explains that the affairs of others should be done by him. What is that like? Having heard many tantras, being able to explain the tantras with the distinction of the six edges, having wisdom, that is, realizing reality, and similarly having the five senses that transcend the world, such as memory, and having received the oral instructions by respecting the feet of the Lama. In order to explain the complete dedication of merit. By the grace of the Holy Vajradhara, I have heard many tantras. By explaining the path to enlightenment with clear words, whatever merit the Shakya's spiritual friend has accumulated, may it become a vessel for enlightenment with the skillful and clear ripening! Thus it is said. The holy path is, After explaining the path to attain the state of Vajradhara, may all sentient beings become vessels for enlightenment by the merit I have gained, that is, relying on the state of union.

Pa'o. What is my situation like? Due to the kindness of the noble Vajradhara seen in a dream, having been taken in by the great Vajradhara teacher, having heard many tantras, I became a wise one, and opened this path with clear words. Therefore, may all sentient beings become wise, and through clear maturation, become vessels for attaining enlightenment, this is the complete dedication. Śākya-bśes-gñen is the name by which the teacher is very pleased, and the name of accomplishment is Klu-sgrub. Some say that Śākya-bśes-gñen is the teacher's own disciple, and the reason for naming the treatise composed by the teacher himself with the disciple's name is because of great joy. In that respect, the meaning is that the noble Vajradhara, being both noble and Vajradhara, therefore the noble Vajradhara is Klu-sgrub, and due to his kindness, having heard many tantras, and so on, is the same as before. All pure and completely pure, means that all is through the order of self-nature and appearances, completely understanding self-nature. The unsurpassed refers to where there is the most excellent intention, that is called the language of that. Therefore, that is the meaning of the words, "the order of completely purifying the mind." From the commentary on the Five Stages, "Clarifying the Meaning of the Stages," the second part on the stages of focusing on the mind. // Third, the stage of self-blessing. Now, in order to compose the stage of self-blessing, first, to the Bhagavan Vajradhara, I prostrate. Lord of all Vajra Holders, I prostrate to the Great Vajra, The very self-blessing, With love, I shall explain. Thus it is said. The stage of self-blessing, the meaning of which was previously explained, I shall explain, this is the connection of the words. Then, by what cause? By love, which means by the power of compassion. This is because, for this stage, only compassion is the root cause. Otherwise, having entered the stage of focusing on the mind, there is no need to completely assume the form of the deity again. What is necessary is to benefit sentient beings, to completely abandon the aspect of annihilation, and the fruit of previous aspirations, that is it.
