If someone asks, "Because of contradictions, it is impossible to attain the state of Buddhahood through the stages of union." The answer is: The Buddhas, the Bhagavat, are constantly abiding in equipoise. Whatever activities they perform, abiding in equipoise does not become a cause of distraction for them. Because the abiding of the Buddhas is of four kinds: abiding by conduct, abiding by teaching, abiding by entering into samadhi, and abiding by inner correct placement. Abiding is the conduct of abiding in equipoise. Among these, the Buddhas' physical conduct of abiding in equipoise is abiding by conduct. Their speech activity of teaching the Dharma, etc., is abiding by teaching. Their mental activity of entering into samadhi is abiding by entering into samadhi. Their mental activity of coming to the gods, etc., is abiding by inner correct placement. Therefore, with regard to abandoning and abiding in equipoise, the Bhagavat are the same. Whatever diverse activities with elaboration they perform for the benefit of sentient beings, those grounds do not waver even slightly. For example, just as clouds and snow, etc., do not harm the space element. Although they perform the benefit of sentient beings by the power of past aspirations, they do not degenerate by their own nature. For them, just as a potter's wheel turns, all activities occur. As it is said: "Who, with the view that examines all causes of faults, burns firewood, the object of self and other differences, eradicates faults, in the faultless, with faultless compassionate wisdom, the illusory person is wise in action, by the power of past aspirations, engages in action like a wheel turning." Therefore, merely entering into samadhi and abiding in it accomplishes the desired purpose of sentient beings; this is certain. As it is said: "Merely by the abiding of a person, that itself is like a wish-fulfilling jewel; those who rely on walls, etc., whatever is desired will occur." As it is said, and similarly

Non-attention and attention, where those are not found, the inexhaustible state of yoga, that is the transformation of union. As it is said below. Now, here, let us examine carefully, are these five stages practiced by one yogi, or by five yogis? If one yogi practices, then at the end of vajra recitation, he will attain the result, and the second stage and so on will be meaningless, because the recitation of the male organ is luminosity itself. If five people practice, then the luminosity will become different, but that is not desirable, because it is non-dual. The difference of means is not to establish the difference of suchness, if it is said that it is because the action and other tantras are taught, but that is not true, because in the action and other tantras, suchness is not taught as the main thing. If they are mainly in accordance with suchness, then it is not reasonable to teach the tantras from above. The teaching of the action and other tantras is for the sake of the beginners, it is said for the sake of the provisional meaning, not for the sake of the definitive meaning, so think about it. Therefore, how should we abide here? Answer: Here, the five stages are the object of practice of one person, not five people. Enlightenment is also one, although there are many means, it should not be different, like rain. For example, the rain that falls from the center of the sky blocked by clouds in summer, although it is one, if it falls on a sugar cane tree, it becomes sweet, if it falls on bitter substances such as gentian, it becomes bitter, if a snake drinks it, it becomes poison, so although luminosity is only one, those who abide in the action tantra only hold the form of the deity, those who abide in the performance tantra hold it through the gate of various elaborations, and those who abide in the yoga tantra hold it through the difference of mantra, mudra, and samadhi. Those who abide in the great yoga tantra hold that nature through the difference of the generation stage and the completion stage.

It will be understood as Suchness. Regarding this, some through the distinction of the three samadhis, some through the complete solitude of the body, some through the thusness of speech, some through the complete solitude of mind, some through the complete solitude of conventional truth, some through the complete solitude of ultimate truth, some through the means of relying on non-abiding nirvana, some through the means of the six-limbed yoga such as individual gathering, and some through the means of subtle yoga and meditating on bindus, it will be understood as Suchness, this is the extensive explanation. As it is said: These dharmas are prophesied by the utterance of sound itself, neither dharma nor sound represent anything here, having entered the one true path, please touch the unsurpassed act of patience. And so on, because it appears. Therefore, here is the accomplished tenet, for the yogi who is in the stage of a beginner, the Vajra Acharya who inquires about the mandala of the glorious Guhyasamaja ritual, having entered any of the mandalas such as the Mind Vajra mandala, with the order of requesting the vows and precepts of that mandala as the preliminary, and the empowerments of outer non-regression, secret, and wisdom-jnana, and bestow the meditation of the deity of one's own desire. After that, that disciple goes to a place without people, first, for the complete solitude of the body, meditate on the generation stage which is mainly the three samadhis, and again, by observing the characteristics of its ultimate, in order to purify speech completely, meditate on the order of Vajra recitation, then, for the complete solitude of mind, meditate on the order of focusing on the mind, and through the order of blessing oneself, abide in the illusory-like samadhi. Through the stages of desire, detachment from desire, and burning of desire, enter into manifest enlightenment, and through the stages of union, manifest non-abiding nirvana, become a Buddha and in order to benefit all sentient beings, go from Buddha-field to Buddha-field. The practitioner is not five persons, but one.
