Oh, this should be known by the subtle yogi. It is not endowed with seed bindu, nor does it arise from wind. If one attains appearance, that is the characteristic of completeness. Thus it is said, these seven natures, the characteristic of ignorance arises from the Alaya-consciousness of maturation. The subtle yogi should know, which means that those with intelligence like the tip of a kusha grass should realize self-awareness itself. When the nature of these natures is fully understood, the previously mentioned seeds, bindus, wind, etc., will not be found. Therefore, this appearance, which is like the appearance of a rainbow, should be understood as complete realization. In order to explain the number of these natures by distinguishing between night and day, (it is said in the scripture:) One hundred and sixty subtle natures, all arise in day and night due to the cause of riding the wind. Thus it is said, these eighty natures of wisdom, means, and close attainment, through the distinction of night and day, will become one hundred and sixty. Subtle means difficult to show, that is, when nature appears, those who have not abided in samadhi cannot show it. Even yogis who abide in the generation stage find it difficult to show, because they are attached to the gross level and become attached to the form of the deity. So, what causes these to arise? By the cause of riding the wind. Riding the wind is the Alaya-consciousness, which itself is the cause of these natures, that is, it comes from that cause. Because if the wind does not find nature, then the appearance of nature will not arise. In the state of clear light, the Alaya-consciousness riding the wind is not found.

In the present moment, in the Alaya-vijñana, because habitual tendencies enter, those arise from it, there is no fault whatsoever. Or, although things do not exist, due to delusion, they appear separately, like a dream. Similarly, it should be understood in the waking state as well. Skandhas, dhatus, ayatanas, indriyas, etc., the two kinds of consciousness completely gather here, becoming great emptiness, whoever falls asleep, will be influenced by the force of wind and see dreams. There is no other difference between dreaming and being awake, by fully understanding dreams, one will want to obtain the fruit, etc. In order to show how long it takes for the nature to appear, a moment, a short time, an instant, closing the eyes, and clapping the hands. This is a brief explanation. The detailed explanation is: a moment is said to be the time of a finger snap, a short time is the time it takes to circle a mustard seed, an instant is the time it takes to breathe once, closing the eyes is the time it takes to close the eyes, clapping the hands is the time it takes to clap two hands together. A moment, etc., are their definitions. How long does it take for the sound of a finger snap to end, that is the time called a moment. How long does it take to circle a mustard seed on the palm of the hand, that is a short time. How long does it take to exhale a breath from the nostrils, that is an instant. How long does it take to close the eyes. How long does it take to close the eyes, that is closing the eyes. How long does it take to clap the hand against the hand, that is clapping the hands. Through those times, the appearance of nature is symbolized. Otherwise, if one does not understand when the nature of wisdom, skillful means, and ignorance appear, the nature will become confused. Therefore, if one doubts what can make what not appear, one will never enter into the clear light. So, do we rely on the all-pervading purity, or on the differences of time such as moments? Do not say that. During the time of learning, it is not possible to grasp the all-pervading purity. For those with sharp faculties, the difference of time is not necessary, this will be explained below. For things without inherent existence, the difference between wisdom and consciousness is
