Because that is merely the nature of reality. Moreover, that is not different from the ultimate truth, because apart from the nature of reality, no subject can be observed. In the Explanation of the Mind of Enlightenment, it is also said: Just as the sweetness of sugarcane and the heat of fire are their nature, similarly, the emptiness of all phenomena is considered to be their nature. Just like the nature of being made and impermanence, if there is no cause, it will definitely not arise. As it is said, and in the Perfection of Wisdom, it is also said: Form is empty by nature. Form itself is emptiness. Emptiness is also not other than form. Form is also not other than emptiness, and so on. Thus, having understood that conventional and ultimate truths are without distinction, and having truly mingled in any samadhi, having become one and without otherness, that is said to be union, which is the general meaning. Or, conventional and ultimate truths are the stages of generation and completion, and having understood that they are without distinction, the yogi truly mingles in any samadhi, that is said to be its union. Or, the conventional truth is the four stages such as vajra recitation, as it is said in this very text: As long as one possesses meditation, so long is one a beginner in action. The ultimate truth is the five stages, and having understood that they are without distinction and without otherness, and having truly mingled and made them of one taste, that is said to be union, which is the ultimate meaning. From the perspective of the completion stage: Focusing on suchness, and where there is no arising, there union will occur, the yogi is in an inexhaustible state. As it is said, suchness is the special quality of samadhi that is free from all faults of conceptualization arising from affliction and purification, and another name for it is luminosity. Even having settled into that, focusing on suchness, there should be no grasping at separate conceptualizations such as "that is this" or "I have attained suchness," and similarly, for the sake of benefiting sentient beings, arising through the stages of self-blessing is joy.

Therefore, not generating conceptual thoughts that are based on it is the place where the great Vajradhara, who is inexhaustible and without end, is manifested for the yogis who accomplish the completion stage. It should be said that it is the state of the Tathagata, which is all-pervasive and ultimate. That (Hevajra Tantra) is: "The so-called sleep and awakening, Those states are all abandoned, Free from sleep and awakening, The union of the teacher is here." Thus it is said, the so-called sleep is the sleep of the mind in the night of ignorance, due to not fully knowing the nature of things, that is, not knowing. Awakening is the complete knowledge of the nature of each thing through complete analysis by valid cognition. Those two states, that is, because the object of the mind abandons the difference of moments and is clear, are free from sleep and awakening, the teacher Buddha who has abandoned knowledge and ignorance, in whatever samadhi he abides, the yogi should know that samadhi is the union, this is the general meaning. Or, the so-called sleep is the bodhicitta that dissolves into the seventy-two thousand channels. The so-called awakening is the way in which method and wisdom are equally absorbed, dripping from those (channels) and abiding at the tip of the vajra. Like those two states, from awakening, abandoning sleep and awakening, that is, entering and rising, abiding in the stage of union, becoming omniscient, this is the ultimate. That (Hevajra Tantra) is: "Samadhi and non-samadhi, In that, all are non-existent, Abandoning the real and unreal, The yogi is the place of union." Thus it is said, the samadhi of the generation stage yogi is the practice of the deity's body in stages such as the initial practice. Non-samadhi is abiding in the four postures in the session break after doing all those. Similarly, the samadhi of the completion stage yogi is especially fond of the practice of vajra recitation and so on. Non-samadhi is rising from that (samadhi) by mere appearance. In what kind of samadhi are those two, all kinds, that is, in the three times, are also non-existent. Yogi
