Wisdom, it is said, refers to the three types: wisdom arising from hearing, wisdom arising from contemplation, and wisdom arising from meditation. Among these, wisdom arising from hearing and so on is with an object of focus, while what is attained after that is without an object of focus. Compassion refers to the three types: focusing on beings, focusing on phenomena, and without a focus. The first two are with a focus, while the last is without a focus, and that itself is great compassion. Wisdom and compassion become one, and after knowing and realizing that they are without difference, the yogi enters into it and benefits sentient beings; that is the realm of the Buddha, the stage of union of the Sugata's realm, which is said to be provisional meaning. Or, wisdom is the hand seal of wisdom. Compassion is glorious Vajradhara, the great hand seal, and after knowing and directly realizing the oneness of their equal absorption, whichever yogi enters into it, by the order of play, benefiting beings through the gate of manifesting different mandalas, that is the stage of union, the realm of the Buddha of non-abiding nirvana, the twelfth bhumi to be attained, it should be explained, this is definitive meaning. Or, wisdom is the ultimate bodhicitta. Compassion is the relative mind, and those are one. By the limb of holding the vajra pride, after knowing and experiencing the one taste, whichever yogi enters into it, abiding in the suchness of the great bliss of co-emergent great bliss, that is the realm of the Buddha, the union of one's own nature to be thoroughly understood by the direct perception of self-awareness, it should be explained, this is not the intended meaning. Or, wisdom is the Prajnaparamita. Compassion is the five paramitas, and their oneness is accomplished through the gate of the three circles being completely pure, and after knowing and accomplishing in that way, whichever yogi enters into it, the yogi who causes to enter into generosity and so on, that is the stage of union, the stage of non-duality is manifestly known.

That is the realm of the Buddha, abiding in the ground of the Tathagata, it should be said, this is the general meaning. Now, from another aspect, through the equal integration of skillful means and wisdom, having known the nature of all things, where does the great yogi abide? That is the union of two. It is said that wisdom is the seal of wisdom, skillful means is the body of Vajradhara, through the union of equal integration of these, knowing and realizing all such as desire as the co-emergent nature, the yogi abides and integrates in the co-emergent place, that is called the union of two, this is the straightforward meaning. Alternatively, wisdom is the stage of complete purification of the mind, skillful means is the stage of self-blessing, the unfolding and gathering of the cause and effect of these is equal integration. Thus, all three realms are gathered into their own nature and known, and closely realizing the twelve similes of illusion, then where does the great yogi of the perfection stage of realization abide? Where does the diamond-like samadhi abide? That is said to be the suchness of the stage of union of two, this is the definitive meaning. From the perspective of setting the Hearers' side as the former, where there is the remainder of aggregates, and likewise there is the non-remainder of aggregates, such conceptualization has ceased, knowing that is the union of two. It is said that the Nirvana of the Hearers is of two kinds, namely with remainder of aggregates and without remainder of aggregates. Among them, the aggregates bound by the afflictions and the habitual tendencies of near afflictions are the aggregates, and existing together with them is with remainder of aggregates. When the afflictions have been abandoned through the path of seeing and the path of meditation, but because of the power of past habitual tendencies, the body has not yet been exhausted, at that time, those of the Hearer lineage will think, although liberated, it seems not liberated. When the afflictions are exhausted and the aggregates have disappeared, like a lamp whose oil has been exhausted, it has disappeared, that is said to be the Nirvana without remainder of aggregates. Therefore, these two conceptualizations, in what samadhi are they not
