Non-duality is oneness, the conventional and ultimate truths exist in a non-dual entity, and the samadhi meditated upon by yogis is called union. The Blessed One spoke thus, which indicates that it is the Blessed One's true speech, not a hidden meaning. In order to refute the views of all opponents: Who abandons the thoughts of permanence and annihilation, and dwells well in this, who knows the order of union, who knows this, is the wise one. Thus it is said. Similarly, all other opponents who are bound by the view of self are the cause of the poisonous tree of samsara, and the different names of permanence, who abide in the path of permanence. They are not liberated from the bonds of samsara, because they do not fully understand the path to liberation. Some Vaibhashikas and others think that the extinction of their own skandhas, etc., is like the extinguishing of a lamp when the oil is exhausted, and they desire a nirvana like a lamp. They do not have the happiness and joy of benefiting sentient beings, therefore they transcend the two measures and desire a liberation with the nature of annihilation. They will not be liberated either, because the nature of liberation is completely impure. By virtue of understanding the luminous suchness, the samadhi that unifies all things, for this, who abandons the thoughts of permanence and annihilation and does not abide, who knows and realizes such an order of union, he is the wise one, it should be said that he is the yogi who sees things as they are. In the King of Precious Garlands it is also said: After fully knowing the benefit of self and others, constantly with the actions of body, speech and mind, after fully observing everything, the one who acts is the wise one. Selflessness will not become existent, and what is mine will not become non-existent, this word makes children afraid, but the wise one will exhaust existence. Thus and so on, it is said, not a hidden meaning. That is: Knowing wisdom and compassion as one, and then entering well, is said to be union, this order is the realm of the Buddhas. Thus it is said.
