That is only one side of samsara. That which is apart from those, the very joy of the mind itself is nirvana, this refers to this. The venerable Gampopa also said: The mind with defilements such as desire is samsara, and that which is devoid of it, in short, is liberation, as spoken by the Victorious One who has abandoned obscurations. Thus he said. By abandoning and destroying the discriminations of samsara and nirvana, in any samadhi where things are one and become non-different, the accomplishment of that is union, which is called the samadhi of non-abiding nirvana. Similarly, because it is the unwavering samadhi of clear light, it is non-abiding in samsara, and because it holds the rainbow-like wisdom body, it is able to accomplish the benefit of all sentient beings, so it is non-abiding in nirvana, which refers to the indication of a name that is in accordance with the meaning of the actual stage of union. That is the general characteristic, it is the intention. The specific characteristic is: "Completely afflicted, completely purified, having known the ultimate truth, knowing the oneness of anything, one knows its union." It is said that "completely afflicted" refers to the three realms gathered by what arises from the mind. "Completely purified" refers to the virtuous dharmas that are the antidote to it. Similarly, the noble truth of suffering, the noble truth of origin, the noble truth of cessation, and the noble truth of the path, these refer to the four noble truths. The venerable Lord Tara said: "Two are the truths of the noble Hearers, and two are the noble truths." Because it appears like this, what are the truths of the noble ones? They are suffering and origin, because those are what the noble persons who wish to abandon samsara have truly ascertained as the objects of cause and effect. The antidotes to those, cessation and path, are noble because they are unconditioned and free from defilements themselves, and because they are preceded by correct knowledge and measure.

Because it is pleasing to all the Buddhas, it is the truth. It is utterly pure, because it specifically purifies and eliminates all afflictions, therefore it is utterly pure, and it is the path gathered by the virtuous side. Therefore, through the stages of the path of seeing and the path of meditation, the afflictions of the realm of the three realms are pacified. The yogis who have reached the other shore, through the distinction of the four moments, comprehend the dharmas that correspond to the part of ascertainment, which is the Dharmakaya. Until the time of realization, there will arise the conceptualizations of the unfavorable side and the favorable side. Because of manifesting the reality of clear light, in any samadhi, there will be no appearance of afflictions transformed by the unfavorable side and the favorable side, and the conceptualizations to be purified, without the thought of "this is it." However, any yogi who knows and realizes the oneness, that is, the nature of non-duality, then he knows the stages of union, this is the meaning, not the hidden meaning. Through the gate of the Consciousness-only school, which is stated first, the samadhi of non-difference. Things together with all discriminations, And discriminations without appearance, The yogi who practices with oneness, He knows the union. Thus it is said, this is the view of some Consciousness-only schools. For example, any objects that appear externally, such as vases and cloths, do not exist by their own nature, because they are self-illuminating. Any object that is the nature of self-illumination exists, like consciousness. Whatever is the illumination of another does not exist, because it is entirely under the control of another. Dependence on another is solely to be illuminated by consciousness. Therefore, whatever phenomena there are, whether blue or yellow, depend solely on consciousness, just like the images that appear in a mirror. This is the universal attachment to objects by those who speak with consciousness, that is, the arising of conceptualizations that appear as a collection of external objects.

Therefore, I think like this: Like the stainless and boundless sky, having completely abandoned all afflictions and purifications, the sole non-dual consciousness should not be stained by those aspects that arise from or appear in meaning, because its nature is pure, like the sky. The appearance of sudden stains is merely non-appearance, because it is the Blessed Mother herself. Whatever is experienced as appearance is non-existent, like illusion, mirage, double moon, etc. Therefore, it is the sole non-dual consciousness, which Yogacharas realize as non-dual. Like this, having understood the suchness of the two luminous aspects, uniting them into one, that is, making them one taste, the yogi who practices and knows, abiding in the suchness of complete accomplishment, that is union, which is knowing the suchness of the nature of the realm of non-abiding nirvana, that is seeing or hearing, this is not the intention. The Madhyamaka school says: The grasped and the grasper, The two minds are non-existent, Where there is no division, That is said to be union. Thus, the Madhyamikas consider the external grasped object to be non-existent because it is separate from one and many. Therefore, since there is no grasped object, there is also no grasper, so they say there is no grasper. Thus, according to their view, mind, that is, knowledge, is not existent as the two aspects of the nature of the grasped and the grasper. Similarly, they also say that all these things are without inherent existence because they are separate from one and many, like reflections. Any object that possesses one and many, etc., like the twenty-five suchnesses completely imputed by others, is a contradictory aspect and is merely without valid cognition. Thus, for the Madhyamikas, there is no appearance of duality, because this is the aspect of the sole ultimate truth, and to eliminate that, it is said: In what samadhi of the nature of union
