How can others not achieve what those people strive for? If it is said to be for obtaining the supreme king's position, etc., then from the beginning of taking vows of asceticism until the end of death, no ascetic has been seen. If it is said that in order to obtain a vast land of enjoyment that is extremely stable, diverse, and boundless, through blessings, one becomes close to the desire realm gods and thus accomplishes it, always pervaded by complete happiness, always satisfied with one's own nature, incompatible with other characteristics, and that the enjoyment is to be obtained by another body at another time, then, alas! Bound by a hundred ropes of evil desire, wanting to destroy the body due to the domination of thought, and being dominated by ignorance, the state is worthy of sorrow. Because those peacocks who seek the stainless water arising from generosity, even though they are animals, if one examines the happiness of the mind in detail, it is done for the benefit of that very body, so it should not be blamed. Ascetics, white sugar and brown sugar, enjoying with the mind, will become happy, but will become something different from the body, which is like a flower in the sky. Because these are merely beliefs, be silent. With this reasoning, the asceticism of the perfect yogi is refuted. As it is said in the scriptures: Asceticism torments the body, and that alone is not merit, it does not avoid harming others, nor does it benefit others. Disrespecting the great path of the excellent Dharma of generosity, discipline, patience, and clarity, one goes to the wrong path of solitude, and the body suffers. Limbs are entangled by the illusion of suffering, the solitude of samsara is terrifying, and one obtains a forest inhabited by countless beings, extremely far away. That is what is said. In the tantra called "The Gathering of All the Gods," what is the asceticism of the yogis like? Whenever all actions are performed with skillful means and without doubt, with a mind free from conceptualization, this is the most supreme of all asceticisms. What is called asceticism? With non-conceptualization, in the nature of non-conceptualization, always all actions.
