Like the cloudless sky, one will constantly experience the appearance of extreme clarity. Where there is no arising of the appearance of conceptualization, and no conceptualization of day and night and boundaries, there the yogi who possesses only the food of meditation, abandoning all afflictions and pure conceptualizations, abides, and until samsara is empty, benefits self and others and abides, this is not the ultimate meaning. The distinction of that is: Wisdom purely abides in that very place, and the unsurpassed omniscient one, unchanging and without appearance, non-dual and supremely peaceful. Thus it is said. What is that clear light like? It is the pure abode of the wisdoms of appearances and so forth, it is the basis of purity. That itself is the self-nature of the ultimate truth. The omniscient one is Vajradhara himself, the nature of samadhi like the vajra of the twelfth bhumi. Because there is nothing above it, it is unsurpassed, that is, the fourth initiation. Unchanging refers to the three, such as joy, and because it is separated from them, it is unchanging. Appearance refers to knowledge, wisdom, consciousness, and nature, and because those are abandoned, it is without appearance. Two refers to the conceptualizations of relative and ultimate truth, and because those do not exist, it is non-dual. Supreme refers to having attained the state of Vajradhara, therefore it is supreme. Peaceful refers to being separated from all conceptual elaborations. Thus, the place where everything is empty is called clear light, it is hidden. In order to show that only from clear light can omniscience arise, and not from elsewhere. Saying "exists" and saying "does not exist", that cannot be expressed in words. Therefore, from pure clear light, three wisdoms truly arise. Possessing the thirty-two marks, complete with the eighty minor marks, possessing all supreme aspects, the omniscient one arises from there. Thus it is said. That clear light is not indicated by the conceptualization of "exists", because there is no consciousness of the self-nature of the relative. It is also not "does not exist", because it is the direct perception of the yogi of the extremely clear nature.

It is because it is to be experienced by oneself. What is it like? It cannot be expressed in words, because it is to be known by oneself, like the great joy of a young girl and a dream seen by a mute. It cannot be shown by considering it conventionally. It is not in terms of its own nature, but like showing the experience of happiness and suffering in the realms of gods and hells. Therefore, it is not the domain of words. Therefore, from the pure and stainless suchness of the self-nature of luminosity, which is always clear, the three wisdoms will arise and dissolve into it. It is said that this is only for the sake of what was said before. Not only that, but even the all-knowing, the great Vajradhara, will arise from it. What is it like? Endowed with the thirty-two marks of a great being and the eighty minor marks, and the most excellent of all connections, the ten powers and the fearlessness, the six superknowledges, the dharanis, the bhumis, the paramitas and the aspects of enlightenment, and the unmixed qualities, etc., and endowed with the qualities of the Buddha, such as great compassion, will be accomplished. It is taught in this way: After truly realizing the luminosity, from the order of self-blessing, one relies on a body like a rainbow in an instant, and becomes the great Vajradhara who is able to accomplish the benefit of sentient beings until the end of samsara, surrounded by the entire mandala. This is the meaning, which is hidden. In order to show that by the measure of scripture, it is said in the sutra section of the Great Vehicle of Extensive Play: Shakya Singha Tathagata, desiring manifest enlightenment, the great emptiness is the Buddha himself, intending to attain it. On the banks of the Nairanjana River, he dwells in the immovable state. It is said that from where he was born, and enlightenment, the wheel of Dharma, appearing from the palace, renunciation, practicing joy, and going into the realm of the gods, and subduing the maras and complete nirvana, etc., is the extensive play showing the story of the Blessed One Shakyamuni.
