The Meaning of the Text: The Meaning of the Text: First, the Sequence of Vajra Recitation. General Explanation: This is the Completion Stage, spoken by the venerable Nāgārjuna, summarized in five meanings. Therefore, for this purpose, first, prostration is made to the desired deity. How to prostrate to the deity one manifestly desires, the entry with precedence is the conduct of the holy ones. Such prostration is divided into three types: in accordance with reason, in accordance, and in accordance with both. What is in accordance with reason? For example, making a treatise to the deity one desires is to prostrate to that deity, such as with the words "Glorious," etc., prostrating to Mañjuvajra, because he is the deity desired by the Buddha of Wisdom. In accordance, for example, at the beginning of the Prātimokṣa vows, to the Bhagavan who is free from desire, prostrating with the words "Abode of Wealth," etc. In accordance with both, for example, the deity of the author is the deity of the treatise, such as the venerable Nāgārjuna in the "Compendium of Sādhanas," prostrating to the Bhagavan Glorious Vajrasattva with the words "Liberated from the conduct of the three realms," etc. Here too, it is just like that, only in accordance with both, because Vajrasattva is the desired deity, and the main subject of the exposition is also that deity. Likewise, prostration is also divided into only four types: body, speech, mind, and unsurpassed. Body is like prostrating with the five limbs, etc. Speech is characterized by praise. Mind is characterized by meditation, etc. Likewise, unsurpassed prostration is characterized by following its nature, as it says in that very text: yathā udake udakaṃ ca. yathā sarpiṣi sarpireva ca. svakeṇa svakīyajñānaṃ. suṣṭhu dṛṣṭaṃ yatra tatra namaḥ. (Tibetan: ཇི་ལྟར་ཆུ་ལ་ཆུ་བཞག་དང༌། Sanskrit Devanagari: यथा उदके उदकं च। Sanskrit Romanization: yathā udake udakaṃ ca. Literal Chinese meaning: Like water pouring into water.), yathā sarpiṣi sarpireva ca. (Tibetan: ཇི་ལྟར་མར་ལ་མར་ཉིད་བཞིན། Sanskrit Devanagari: यथा सर्पिषि सर्पिरेव च। Sanskrit Romanization: yathā sarpiṣi sarpireva ca. Literal Chinese meaning: Like ghee adding to ghee.), svakeṇa svakīyajñānaṃ. (Tibetan: རང་གིས་རང་གི་ཡེ་ཤེས་ནི། Sanskrit Devanagari: स्वकेण स्वकीयज्ञानं। Sanskrit Romanization: svakeṇa svakīyajñānaṃ. Literal Chinese meaning: With self's own wisdom.), suṣṭhu dṛṣṭaṃ yatra tatra namaḥ. (Tibetan: ལེགས་མཐོང་གང་དེར་འདིར་ཕྱག་ཡིན། Sanskrit Devanagari: सुष्ठु दृष्टं यत्र तत्त्र नमः। Sanskrit Romanization: suṣṭhu dṛṣṭaṃ yatra tatra namaḥ. Literal Chinese meaning: Well seen wherever there, prostration.). Etc., will be explained. Furthermore, what is the necessity of making this prostration? The answer is: the necessity is to pacify obstacles, prostration has been made.

When merit is obtained by praising the great being, since non-merit can be eliminated, therefore, the external and internal obstacles arising from non-merit are pacified. Since pacification leads to the completion of the treatise, the pacification of obstacles is the result of prostration. Among them, external obstacles are those that rely on sentient and non-sentient things. The obstacles caused by the five great elements such as earth are those that rely on sentient things. The obstacles caused by livestock, wild animals, birds, snakes, and teachings are the obstacles that rely on non-sentient things. Internal obstacles are of three kinds: body, speech, and mind. Among them, bodily obstacles are caused by wind, bile, phlegm, and so on. Speech obstacles are caused by harsh words and so on. Mind obstacles are caused by desire and so on. All of these are pacified by remembering the Bhagavan. Here, is prostration not an illusion? In the place of prostration, the pacification of obstacles is not seen, because in the spoken tantra, when half of the commentary on "The Prophecy of Intent" was done, the commentator died. In the place where prostration was not done, the pacification of obstacles was seen, such as the Black-faced One to the four lamps, etc. If you say so, that is correct. Because the author of the treatise starts by considering the fruit of the characteristic of fame, because there is only a reason related to that fruit, only fame can pacify obstacles. In the place where prostration is not done, there is also another reason for expressing auspiciousness, such as the word "thus said", which is a connection of words with various meanings, so the sound of "thus said" has an auspicious meaning. Or, even if there is no prostration from the language there, but prostration from the body or mind, so everything is without fault. It's too much, so let's stop here, we should examine what should be examined now. The protector is the master of all beings, prostrating to the glorious great bliss, following the teachings of the yoga tantra, explaining the order of vajra recitation. Protector.
