What is said like that is also untenable, because there, only the cow with consciousness is able to make it lactate. Otherwise, some cows that do not want to lactate are seen not even giving milk to their own calves, so only consciousness makes everything happen, because that is its nature. Therefore, there is no Pudgala Person, Pudgala). The Samkhya and Vaisheshika schools also rely on saying that "I" is permanent, and refuting them is not without reason, because the so-called "I" does not exist, because it is invisible, just as there is no vase in an empty place, which is the invisibility of self-nature. If they say, "What you consider to be the skandhas is the self," then the skandhas are impermanent due to birth and death, because they have the three characteristics, and if the "I" is the same as them, it will become impermanent, which is not what you want. It is also unreasonable to think that the "I" has skandhas, etc., because between permanent and impermanent things, as the support and the supported, it is unreasonable. It is also not right to say that there is an "I" among them, as before. The objects of support and supported are only the objects of cause and effect, therefore, in the first case, when the "I" is the support, because it is the cause, it is impermanent; in the second case, the "I" is the effect, so it also becomes impermanent. Causes do not necessarily have effects, so sometimes they become selfless. It is also invisible apart from the skandhas, and apart from the skandhas it is like a rabbit's horn. If it is said that it is not other than fire and firewood, then what you consider to be extremely impermanent, like the nature of the firewood itself disappearing and becoming the nature of coal, those should be called fire. If the "I" becomes the nature of the skandhas, it is the same, it will become the fault mentioned before, so the "I" does not exist. Similarly, the Tirthikas have ascetic practices such as pulling out hair, wearing white cloth, wearing sky clothes, and so on.

Regarding the distinctions between Ishvara and the gods, and the treatises that explain these, as well as liberation, the world, and the afterlife, they merely acknowledge these. However, according to their view, things are threefold in time. Similarly, there is yogurt, and there is a mare, and the mare also turns into yogurt, and so on. These should be refuted as follows: If things are distinct, how can they be the same? If they are the same, then being distinct is unreasonable, and being both distinct and the same is contradictory. Therefore, according to those who claim that things are both distinct and the same, since it relies on mutual contradiction, whatever is considered to be a person, etc., will become impermanent as before. If it is said that gold, etc., becomes objects such as earrings, but the gold is not damaged, and it is merely a complete transformation, and similarly, all things are completely transformed and not destroyed, then it should be said that the so-called complete transformation means abandoning one's own nature and becoming another thing, and that alone is impermanent. If it is said that the previous gold is the same gold, that is also unreasonable, because it is something else. Because wise people with discernment recognize exhaustion and color, etc., therefore, the view that claims things are both distinct and the same is unreasonable. The extreme proponents of the Vedas are of two kinds, formed by prioritizing either knowledge or action. Among them, those who hold the part of the Vedas that prioritizes knowledge, they take abandoning actions and results as their priority, holding three dots (bindu), three Dharma robes, three staffs, and accepting all ascetic practices such as going from one place to another as asceticism itself. And those who prioritize action, making offerings through sacrifices such as praising fire, and practices such as shaving their heads and holding staffs, are worthy of ridicule. Because the refutation of their liberation has been said before, it will not be elaborated on here. Thus.
