It is also said that the connection should be stated at the beginning of all treatises. Similarly, a treatise without purpose is like examining a crow's teeth, and should not be accepted. Treatises, whether all or a small part, as long as the necessity is not stated, who will accept it? It is also said like that. In order to accomplish the benefit of others, the necessity of necessity must be stated without a doubt. For example, there are two kinds of valid cognition (pramana): appearing as entering (the object of cognition) and appearing as accomplishing the purpose. Among them, appearing as entering (the object of cognition) is non-conceptual, that is, the senses such as the eye appear to blue and so on. From this arises the later definite knowledge, from this arises memory, from memory arises manifest desire, from this arises terminology, from this the thing is obtained, then the thing with the nature of actions such as burning and cooking actually becomes meaningful, and that is the valid cognition of appearing as accomplishing the purpose. Similarly, through the order of diligent hearing, thinking, and meditation, by discriminating, one accomplishes one's own benefit, thereby obtaining the necessity of appearing as entering (the object of cognition). After that, because other beings must also be taken care of, the necessity of the necessity of appearing as accomplishing the purpose is obtained. If someone asks, just as meeting fire can dispel cold, why can't appearing as accomplishing the purpose only accomplish one's own benefit? That is unreasonable, because they mainly accomplish the benefit of others. Bodhisattvas do not consider accomplishing their own benefit as the most important. Because one's own benefit is only a part, bodhisattvas will endure the suffering of hell for kalpas even for the sake of one sentient being. As it is said: Even if in countless kalpas, one experiences all kinds of suffering in hell, if one can ripen just one sentient being, may one have no weariness. This treatise called 'Fifth Stage' is the expresser (the speaker). The expressed (what is said) is the order of practice such as Vajra recitation. The connection is the nature of the expresser and the expressed, or the nature of words and meaning, or the means.

And the nature arising from means? Is it the nature of cause and effect? That relationship also changes into six types: Tathagata, goddess, Bodhisattva, god, Asura, and human. Among them, like a great waveless ocean, the Bhagavan Great Vajradhara, who has abandoned all the defilements of conceptualization, enters into the samadhi like a vajra of suchness of unwavering luminosity, like a fish not moving in the sea. Urged by previous aspirations and great compassion, from the luminosity, in an instant, he manifests himself like a rainbow. Then, in order to purify sentient beings of the nature of desire, hatred, and ignorance, he manifests the five Tathagatas with the same nature as his own, and dwells in the center of them as the lord of the mandala. In order to guide future sentient beings, he speaks the suchness, which is the relationship of the Tathagata. After that, in order to guide only sentient beings of the nature of desire, he manifests the four goddesses, and speaks the suchness by asking about the Dharmadhatu, which is the relationship of the goddesses. After that, he manifests the Bodhisattvas and speaks the suchness, which is the relationship of the Bodhisattvas. What is spoken by Indra's questioning is the relationship of the gods. What is spoken with gods, nagas, and sages as the chief is the relationship of gods and asuras. Teaching the Dharma to Gesar and others is the relationship of humans. Similarly, some say that the Bhagavan spoke to the Tathagatas, and they also transmitted it to the goddesses and so on. Here, it is the relationship of the Tathagata, because the questioners of the glorious Guhyasamaja Tantra are the Tathagatas, and the commentary collected from it is also of that nature. Even though there is no actual relationship from sound and meaning, however, what is done by the discriminating consciousness of the conceptualizer certainly exists, so all the wise ones (think).
