It is so. Aggregate of formations is the nature different from the four aggregates. Because there are countless non-associated forms, minds, and phenomena arising from the mind. Since all five aggregates are aggregates of formations, why is this one alone established as the aggregate of formations? Because it is not form, mind, or any mind, but only has the function of formations, there are fourteen non-associated formations. Aggregate of consciousness is the nature of distinguishing separately, that is, the six consciousnesses such as eye consciousness. These are called the five aggregates, refuting the claims of four and six aggregates, because the six aggregates spoken of by Devadatta do not exist. The speaker says from the Hinayana sutras, in order to show that the three times, four speeches, four kinds of definite arising, etc. are also included in the five aggregates. Why show it? In order to benefit the Shravakas. Shravakas are Arhat Buddhas, who, after listening to the teachings, realize the four parts of discernment in one lifetime. Benefit means becoming better later. The meaning of the explanation of abandoning the aggregates, etc. Now, the explanation of "Aggregates, realms, and sources, what is grasped and what grasps are all abandoned" is: "There is no self in the world, etc.", and so on. The word "etc." includes fifteen kinds such as persons. If analyzed, what is not established is non-existent. Even such aggregates should be destroyed, because the Mahayana negates the five aggregates and establishes the nature of the three realms, etc. as only consciousness. Not only are the aggregates negated, but also the realms, etc., how are they different? "Form is like foam," etc., because of the weakness of nature, it is like foam and cannot be touched. Therefore, form is also like that. What perishes immediately after arising is a bubble, and feeling is also that pleasure arises immediately and then suffering arises. Because there is no appearance, it is like a mirage. Similarly, the aggregate of perception is also, a pillar is called root, middle, and root, if separated, there is no perception of it. What has no essence is a banana tree. The aggregate of formations is also, although it appears as the dharma of samsara, it has no essence, because it is only dependent origination. Because it deceives others, it is like an illusion. Similarly, the aggregate of consciousness is also knowledge and

Because things that are unknown appear as if they are known. Therefore, what is said about the aggregates and so on are the teachings to be learned. "All" means all different forms without exception. Bodhisattvas refer to those on the ten bhumis. "To" refers to the place. What is shown is to be followed and learned. Therefore, what is said is that the nature of the five aggregates is emptiness. What are bubbles and so on? It is said that earth and so on are the great elements, because earth and so on are the source of all things, large and small, and pervade all forms with a common characteristic. Therefore, space is not an element, because it pervades everything. The phenomena that arise from these are the substance of the four great elements. That is, "It is very clear in the form aggregate," and clear means manifest. "The others are in the formless," refers to the four name aggregates. Other than form is formless, because it is unobstructed and cannot be grasped. Therefore, among the five aggregates, one is form and four are formless, which is clearly without doubt, because the four aggregates are mind and mental phenomena. From the nature of form and formless, the realms and so on are also not different, that is, what is called "realm" and so on. Then, why is the form like a bubble not considered a substance? If the ultimate of form is considered to be atoms, then "the atoms of form and formless" and so on, the ultimate part of form is the atom, which is unobstructed and has no front or back parts. There are two types of atoms: accumulated atoms and substantial atoms. The first is because eight, nine, and ten types are accumulated. Among them, the eight accumulated are the four great elements, form, smell, taste, and touch, which arise from these eight accumulating each other. The nine accumulated are sound, because the previous ones and sound itself are accumulated. The ten accumulated are the senses such as the body, because the previous nine and the body itself are accumulated and arise. The substantial atom appears alone. The substantial atom to the eye and so on

Therefore, (eye, etc.) consciousness cannot be generated, so the atoms of form are not root consciousness. Because extremely small particles cannot be perceived by the root consciousness. In this regard, the function of the root is to create obstacles and serve as a beautiful support, as well as to have dominion over their respective realms of activity, and to have dominion over the generation of their respective consciousnesses. Its consciousness is the consciousness of the six aggregates. The term "not" means that it cannot be produced. The reason given for this is: it cannot produce past (objects). And so on, that is, it cannot produce the consciousness of objects that are beyond the five senses. So, what produces it? It arises from the aggregation of these, that is, the aggregation of eight or so extremely small particles, the objects of activity such as vases and woolen cloth, produce the consciousness of the eye, etc., and not by others, that is the meaning. Aggregation is also not what is desired. Like vases and woolen cloth, the objects of activity of aggregated extremely small particles are not ultimately real, why? Because it is the nature of destruction. Therefore, extremely small particles cannot produce consciousness, and even if it is produced by aggregation, it is not ultimately real, so external objects have no realm of activity. What is said to negate the real atoms accepted by externalists is the so-called "directional parts," etc. In this regard, directional parts are the four directions and up and down, a total of six. Such differences are understood through analysis. Therefore, even for extremely small particles that are considered to have no front and back parts, it appears that they can be analyzed, that is, for a dharma that exists as a reality, one must acknowledge the four directions and up and down. The term "manifest" means that the meaning above the vase, etc., is clear. Therefore, whatever is the distinction between having corners and having corners, how can that be an atom? In this regard, a corner is the six directional parts. Having corners is the atom, because it has corners. Among those, whatever is the distinction, how can that be an atom? That is, accumulation will become having limbs. So, does this contradict the four measures of place, the measure of kind, the measure of time, and the measure of function? The kinds of external objects
