It is said that emptiness should be examined by the logic of dependent origination, because examination of external objects, such as subtle and coarse, causes harm, and because there is no valid cognition that establishes existence, and the appearance of mind-only by the power of habit is the examination of non-duality. Even if there are no objects, one should practice illusion and so on, like the appearance of an elephant, just as with trees and mounds, etc. The word 'etc.' should be understood to include cities of gandharvas and so on. Such an examination is related to 'should be restrained.' Conventional truth is so because it is in accordance with ultimate truth. As it is said: 'It is not proper to climb to the top of that mansion, for those who do not desire the ladder of true conventionality.' So it is said. 'Remaining' means very much or repeatedly. Thus, by showing that the activity of the senses ceases by the power of examining objects, in order to dispel desire by the power of attachment to excellent objects, it is said, 'Wisdom, knowledge, empowerment, etc.,' which is at the time of the third empowerment. 'The bliss of experience' means that joy and so on are shown through the kindness of the guru, and experience is related to 'the senses should be restrained.' 'By bliss' means by forms that are free from suffering, etc. 'By memory' means by the bliss previously experienced. 'Great bliss' means by those who generate great bliss in their own continuum by the contact of great bliss, because it makes memory manifest. 'The senses' means that again, contemplating things similar to that, is the meaning of what should be truly relied upon. Thus, after showing that desire is dispelled by the power of attachment to excellent objects, in order to show that the conduct condemned by the noble ones should be rejected, it is said, 'Praise of self,' etc., because there is no one equal to oneself, so it is praise of oneself. 'Disparaging others' means disparaging others who are different from oneself. 'Arrogance of wisdom,' etc., must be abandoned.

After contemplating, the conduct of entering the nature of mantra, which is its branch, is: "Mantras should not be expressed in words." It is said, "Should not be expressed in words" refers to the nature of clearly expressed letters. "Mantra" refers to the essence and near essence, as well as joy, etc. "The lips should not move either." This means that I recite the mantra, I understand the mantra, not for the sake of others understanding. If that is the case, then should the mantra not be recited? Therefore, it is said, "Slightly with the throat," etc., "Reciting with the throat, with sound, It is the nature of reciting internally." "King of Mantras" refers to what was just said. "Reciting in that way" refers to the manner of the nature of internal expression. "Reciting" refers to the meaning of proceeding with numbers in front. Then, how should praises be recited in the manner of the nature of internal recitation, and not in other ways? Therefore, it is said, "Secretly," etc., "Hiding" means not speaking outwardly. "Accomplishment" refers to having the nature of exhausting all sins. "Incomparable" means not shared with outsiders, etc. "Because of what" refers to from what cause. "That is the vow" refers to the reason why manifesting outwardly is the vow itself. Thus, through two ways, after showing the nature of another entry—the vow, in order to show the instruction that for the branch of the fault of not guarding—for the non-vessel, one should abandon in all aspects, it is said, "The wealth of a non-vessel is great," which means not being a vessel for mantra practice. "Wealth is great" refers to wealth and grain, etc. "Even if possessed" means even if completely possessed. "Completely slandering the tantra" refers to showing the cause of the non-vessel itself, because of slandering the treatises and tantras. "Should be abandoned" means should be discarded. "Through effort" refers to having the characteristic of abandoning desire and attachment to that wealth. "Supreme Lama" refers to turning one's back on attachment to wealth.
