It is the discrimination of ga-shi, etc. The saying of burning, etc., means observing by burning and dividing into two, etc. Similarly, it is said: The disciple also, at the age of twelve, should be carefully observed. It means becoming a great entity, observing from the gates of conduct, view, and supreme faith, etc. Mutual means mutual, the teacher to the disciple and the disciple to the teacher. Therefore, it means observing for twelve years. Always means all times. Thus, it means observing with the reason previously stated. Thus, from the gate of observing the disciple, after observing each other, now, in order to speak of the fault of not observing, it is said that otherwise, obstacles will arise, etc. If there is no mutual observation, then at that time, obstacles, meaning the nature of obstacles of inner and outer nature, will arise, meaning will be born. How is it? Therefore, it is said: Therefore, the accomplishment is destroyed. It means becoming an obstacle of the world and beyond the world. Giving suffering means giving suffering to body and mind in this and other lives. Thus, having shown the fault of not observing, now, in order to speak of the great nature of empowerment, here also, one must first enter into such a necessity. If the teacher and the Acharya have observed and empowered, then how does the disciple become bad? Therefore, it is said: Poison by mantra, etc. It means poison whose nature is death, by mantra means poison by mantra. Like destroying means how does it become essence when the ability is weakened? How is it? Therefore, it is said: Mantra can purify. It means purifying with the mantra of Garuda, meaning not doing the work of poison. Thus, the disciple is purified by empowerment, etc., meaning becoming pure. With the four empowerments in order, the defilements of body, speech, mind, and wisdom are purified. What kind of disciple is it? Therefore, it is said: That impure one. It means being with the defilements of sudden faults, etc.

Therefore. Having thus shown the great nature of empowerment, now, in order to show that very nature through the gate of brevity, it is said, and for that reason, "striving" and so on are spoken. Why? Because the disciple of impure nature is accomplished by empowerment for the sake of purity. "With all effort" means that it is blessed for the sake of that, and it has the characteristic of generating the deity. "Mantra practitioner" means those who are suitable at the time of empowerment. "Disciple" means one who is endowed with characteristics and truth. "Having purified" means that the empowerment of the teacher, etc., is well distinguished. By what? Therefore, it is said, "By the guru," meaning one who possesses the characteristics previously mentioned. How should it be purified? Therefore, it is said, "What is the meaning of how?" It means that there is no deceit, and it arises together with the realm of the disciple. "For what purpose?" Therefore, it is said, "For that accomplishment," meaning for the cause of transmundane accomplishment. Having thus explained the examination of the guru and disciple in six aspects, now, intending to explain the empowerment, the supplication is made for its limb, therefore, "Then" and so on are explained. It means after the disciple has been purified by mantra and empowerment, etc. "Vajrapani" means the petitioner. "You are Vajrasattva" means that by what empowerment is mainly done, all accomplishments are explained. "In great bliss" means that the position of being superior by enjoying the five desirable qualities is obtained, so it is connected with "requested." "How is empowerment in the tantra?" means that the tantra is the root tantra, that is, the glorious Guhyasamaja, etc. "Mainly" means that it mainly enters. "How did the Blessed One reveal it?" Having thus shown the petitioner, now, in order to speak of the nature of the empowerment itself, the characteristic of entering the words of the Blessed One as its limb is to explain "saying" and so on, to that Vajrapani. "Vajrasattva" means the sixth Vajradhara, the teacher. "Saying" means

Please speak. If asked, how should it be spoken? Therefore, it is said, "All-knowing," because all dharmas are completely known by the nature of self-luminous essence of the mandala and the mandala's dharma. Because of understanding the reality of the tantras. This is to explain the great tantras, the small tantras, the spoken tantras, and the branch tantras. Furthermore, "Cutting off all doubts," this is to dispel all doubts in the minds of the listeners. Moreover, "Vajrapani" refers to holding the five-pronged vajra, possessing the nature of the five wisdoms. The so-called "as it is" is to fully demonstrate. Thus, having shown the entry into the words of the Bhagavan, now, in order to state the four empowerments that are preceded by the listener's hearing, it is said, "Listen," and so on. The so-called "Vajrapani truly speaks" is to explain very clearly. The so-called "distinction of empowerment" is that the distinction lies in extreme differentiation. The so-called "the first empowerment is the main one" refers to the guru's empowerment, because the body is able to be completely purified, therefore it is the main one. The so-called "the second is not the main one" refers to the secret empowerment, because it is not the main one by its very nature of purity, and because speech arises dependent on the body. The so-called "the third is absorption" refers to wisdom, because the disciple personally experiences great bliss, preceded by entering into the mudra. The so-called "the fourth pure one is ultimate" is to show the ultimate truth, and to show the co-emergent of meaning. Thus, having explained the brief exposition, now, in order to show the four empowerments in order, it is said, "Eleven distinctions." That is, the distinctions of water, diadem, vajra, lordship, name, mantra, conduct, prophecy, exhalation, permission, and non-retrogression. The so-called "main" refers to the guru's empowerment. The so-called "the twelfth is secret" refers to the secret.
