Oh, if it is said like that, it is not correct, because the examples are different. Why is it said, "This pot is not a meat-eater"? This merely shows the difference from a meat-eater, just like a cloth that is different from a pot and possesses it. As long as there is a difference in things, there is the ability to express it. Therefore, the pot merely appears as a nature different from a meat-eater, so it is reasonable to negate it with its own nature by saying, "This is not a meat-eater." Similarly, a thing that possesses both thing and non-thing is unreasonable. By negating non-thing, thing can be understood; by negating thing, non-thing can also be understood. Therefore, by negating thing, non-thing can be accomplished; by negating non-thing, thing can be determined. Therefore, only achieving thing itself, or only becoming non-thing, but a thing with the nature of non-thing is unreasonable because it has the nature of both. Therefore, what is summarized by "therefore" and so on is to be explained, that is, what is to be meditated on is what is to be known. The meditator is the one who meditates on things, and meditation is measuring. Meditation does not have the nature of action, because there is no action and no actor. Therefore, it should be said that all dharmas are emptiness. The meaning of the letters is that, because the object to be pervaded is invisible, it is in order to separately show the emptiness of all things. In order to separately show the emptiness of all things through the order of the three doors of liberation. The words "above and below" and so on are mentioned, referring to the four elements such as earth with six parts. Since they are inseparable from one and many, they are empty, which is one door of liberation with the characteristic of emptiness. Conditioned and unconditioned, conditioned is the five aggregates. Unconditioned is space and so on. All of these are empty according to the reasoning explained earlier. What is called non-thing is that the meditation of those yogis who have reached the other shore is not meditation. Why? Because that is a view that clings to emptiness. Therefore, it appears that all dharmas are emptiness.

The view of clinging to the nature of appearance is what is meant by the term "cause." Meditating on phenomena, both conditioned and unconditioned, with a view that is manifestly attached to emptiness is unreasonable, because it is without a basis. If it is said that merely being manifestly attached to emptiness is the basis for meditation, how should such meditation be refuted? It is said: What is called emptiness is not the realization of a characteristic that negates by means of non-being, but rather a characteristic that negates by means of absence. In that case, it is not a negation of completely grasping things that are similar to objects. For example, by saying, "Bring a non-Brahmin," it is understood that one brings a kingly lineage, etc., that is similar to a Brahmin. Negating by means of absence is what shows the non-existence of things. Similarly, after negating the entity of emptiness, one does not state anything else whatsoever, because even any manifest attachment should be established. However, negating all aspects of things is emptiness. Things that are distinct in various ways are like clothes. When emptiness is burned by fire, there is no distinction of ashes whatsoever. Sentient beings and the vessel, these two worlds, having been burned here, the self is also just like that, becoming pacified like a torch. Because it is said that way. Therefore, the Blessed One spoke of eighteen kinds of emptiness in order to abandon even the conceptualization of parts and mere parts. Emptiness was taught in order to abandon all the faults caused by views. Because it is said that way. If emptiness is a characteristic that is devoid of all capabilities, then, the Blessed One said in the Perfection of Wisdom Sutra, "Form is emptiness, and emptiness is form." How, then, is the aspect of negating by means of absence related to the entity of accomplishing meaningful actions? It is said: Emptiness is the nature of negating by means of absence, because emptiness and things, by their nature, realize that things are emptiness, and also realize that emptiness is things, so things are not separate. If that is the case, the thing that accomplishes meaningful actions is empty.
