Furthermore, the term "lineage" is not the essence of Suchness. The reason for "clear and pure" is that it is the fourth stage of Abhisambodhi, and therefore it should also be purified. Thus, the entity that is merely conventional truth is the characteristic of the wisdom body attained through the stages of self-blessing, which is the form of a divine body. The term "not an entity" means it is not the ultimate truth. The reason for "not deviating from those two" is that it appears as duality. There, the illusory form of the deity and the example of illusion both appear separately. Wherever the two appear separately, that is only samsara, just as the apprehended and the apprehender appear separately. Therefore, that too should be purified. Therefore, the words "because of that" and so on, only reveal the benefits of the stage of union, which is the result of the four stages. The phrase "meditating as if on the two truths" refers to meditating on the stage of union, the nature of which is the inseparability of conventional and ultimate truths. The reason for "difficult to focus on" is that it is attained through the power of previously accumulated merit, encountering virtuous friends, being born in a conducive place, being connected to the Bodhisattva lineage, and being blessed by the Buddhas. This reveals the hidden meaning of accurately understanding the characteristics of conventional truth. The term "hidden" is because it intends to explain the purification of the mind and the stages of self-blessing. The phrase "with ultimate truth" refers to what is attained through the stages of mudra and samadhi, which is attained through the stages of Abhisambodhi. The phrase "there is no meditation" means that it is not the reason for meditation, because what is called meditation is the characteristic of mental discrimination, the nature of conceptual consciousness, which is conditioned. Ultimate truth is unconditioned because it is without substance. The causal relationship between conditioned and unconditioned phenomena is unreasonable, like a vase and space. Whatever is conditioned can reasonably be the cause or effect of conditioned phenomena, like a barley seed and a barley sprout. That

Just as a vase is made by clay, a stick, a wheel, a rope, and the labor of a man's hands. The essence of the nature of all dharmas, the ultimate truth, should not be meditated upon in that way, because it is not for generating permanence. Whatever is unaccomplished or impure should be meditated upon in order to be attained or completely purified, but there is no need for meditation on what is naturally accomplished or completely pure. If there were a need, it would not be the ultimate truth. In order to show that very thing, it is said, "Primordially pure," permanence is immaculate and without outflows because it is pure from the very beginning. If that is the case, then why practice the sequence of mudras and samadhis in order to attain manifest enlightenment? It is said: By the connection of mudras or the manifestation of samadhi, luminosity is not to be generated or cultivated, because that very thing is accomplished from the beginning. It is only through mudras and samadhi that temporary stains are to be removed, but it is not the attainment of that very thing. That very thing is self-appearing, like the sky. As it is said, "Like the purity of the water element, gold, and the sky, it is considered pure." Therefore, this shows the fourth stage, which is characterized by entering luminosity. That which is called the nature of conventional truth, the illusory body to be attained by the third stage, should also not be meditated upon; it is not appropriate to think in that way. Saying "it is not true" is because the fourth stage depends on complete purification. Through "aspect" and so on, this shows the samadhi of the stage of union. "The nature of the two truths" refers to: the samadhi of union in which conventional truth and ultimate truth are inseparable. "The meditation on things does not change" means that that very thing should not be contemplated. Why is that? Because liberation will occur simply by seeing the two truths as non-dual, meaning that liberation is attained simply by manifesting the dharmadhatu of non-abiding nirvana, which is the nature of the inseparability of the two truths.
