That which is heard from the officer, in that way it increases in the mind through four kinds of reasoning, is meaningful. Similarly, at the time of explanation, it pours down like seamless rain. This is to say to abandon all dharmas. This is said in the lotus, just as the dew in the center of the lotus scatters as soon as the sun rises. In order to show sandalwood, it is said "little hearing". That is to say, not having heard much from the teacher. If another wise person exhorts, saying, "Hey, good-faced one, strive! As long as you want, I will explain everything to you." Having heard this, but saying, "I know everything, hearing other dharmas is of no use to me." Then angrily standing up and leaving, this is arrogance. As it is said: Whoever follows hearing, is indeed wise. Having obtained it, whoever abandons hearing itself. When various immeasurable dharmas of hearing are left out. How can the ignorant one, generate certainty? If one is arrogant, even if there is no fault, if one speaks too much at the time of explanation, it will cause boredom. If one speaks with reason, then there is no fault. However, without any basis, going beyond the sutras, mixing with other doctrines, and speaking contrary to one's own tenets, this is called a fault. In order to eliminate that fault, if one tries to make him a vessel for hearing, that is also impossible, because he is arrogant. As it is said: Not knowing is easy to be content with, Especially knowing is very easy to be content with. Whoever is filled with knowing a little, Even the Buddha cannot make him content. This is sandalwood, the nature of sandalwood is that it has no fruit, and because it is surrounded by snakes with poisonous fangs, no one approaches it, therefore it cannot be taken up. Therefore, because it is separated from the accumulation of merit and wisdom. It is not able to accomplish one's own benefit and the benefit of others. In order to show the jewel, it is said "discipline" etc. Just like the ground that is the basis of causes and non-causes, the basis of all qualities is having that discipline. Pure

is without deceit. The wise and intelligent means diligent in virtuous actions and fully understanding. Having wisdom means having innate wisdom. The single lineage means hearing the measure spoken by another once, and holding and remembering it until the end of life. Explaining well after hearing means, just as it was heard from the teacher's mouth, explaining without error together with the lineage of explanation, etc., that is a person like a precious jewel, because it fulfills all hopes and is invaluable. Or, the collection of qualities previously mentioned is precious. Because it possesses those qualities, it is a precious jewel. In order to show those people as two types, lotus, etc., are mentioned. These four people mean, it is said, etc., that it is suitable as a vessel for the explanation of the assembly mainly based on the generation stage, and not others, this is the remainder of the sentence. In that case, why would sandalwood, this kind of ignorant thing, become a vessel for explanation? It is said in reply, "Wanting to hear everything" was said earlier, entering into hearing is not in a state of equanimity, but should be followed. Because even those of bad lineage and bamboo craftsmen, etc., can become vessels for this Guhyasamaja, then what need is there to mention entering gradually through hearing the Dharma, etc.? It can only gradually eliminate its wrong views, but for that very reason, it is not a vessel for the completion stage. When the generation stage is completed by the reasoning of the ladder sequence, then even those like sandalwood will become vessels for the completion stage. Therefore, in every way, one should not take a neutral attitude towards it. The completion stage, etc., means that this is the only commitment to speak only to those who are worthy to be explained to as disciples. Always adorned with conduct means adorned with qualities such as discipline, this is to establish the reason in a special way. Now, in order to show the difference in explanation by examining the disciples, it is said, "person," etc., which refers to what kind of person and what kind of wisdom he possesses, completely.
