Therefore, there are five. If asked, why only the lineage of Bodhisattvas is mentioned? Because "wanting to hear all forms" indicates that listening should not be abandoned. "Because the forms of wisdom are immeasurable" means that this is the cause for determining each lineage. "Lotus" and so on are brief indications. "Having names with different natures" refers to holding names that match the meaning. "Spoken by the All-Knowing One" This statement is to prevent self-creation. "After hearing all the meanings" This is a broad indication. Hearing all the meanings means hearing the measurable object from the mouth of the teacher, "being very skilled in holding" means holding without inversion. "Forgetting in an instant" means not remembering anything after getting up from there. Therefore, like a lotus, it is a lotus. Because there is the scent and color indicated by the lotus, but immediately after cutting it off, there is no scent and the color disappears. "Even if hearing more that should be held" and so on, this indicates the white lotus. What should be held is the meaning of the Dharma. More refers to being more excellent than Dharma friends. After hearing a lot, one can also hold and remember. "The speaker has no ability" means that even after hearing, when speaking, one cannot separately explain the tenet, reason, example, the system of explanation, and the system of branches in order. Because there is no innate wisdom, and because the wisdom arising from focusing on the Dharma is inferior. This is an example of cotton in a water pot. Therefore, sprouts and so on will not arise from the seeds of cotton in the water pot, this is the conclusion. Similarly, a person with a white lotus is similar to this, the scent of the white lotus revolves around his own navel and does not spread outward. In order to indicate the lotus. "Having faith and understanding compassion" means that faith is the foundation of all virtues. Therefore, even a person with good qualities will protect yogis, having manifest faith in the truth and the Three Jewels, and so on. Understanding means correctly comprehending. Compassion means having the fruit of hearing and so on. Hearing in the mind

"Increased" refers to what is heard from the teacher, growing in the mind through four types of reasoning, possessing the initial qualities. Similarly, during teaching, "it pours down like seamless rain," meaning to abandon all dharmas. This is described in the lotus, where the dew in the center of the lotus scatters immediately when the sun rises. To demonstrate sandalwood, it is mentioned that "little is heard," meaning not much is heard from the teacher. If another wise person encourages, saying, "Hey, fair-faced one, strive! As long as you wish, I will explain everything to you," but upon hearing this, one says, "I already know everything, hearing other dharmas is of no use to me," and then angrily gets up and leaves, this is because of having arrogance. As it is said: "Whoever follows hearing is indeed intelligent. Having obtained it, whoever remains neutral to hearing itself. When various hearings are omitted immeasurably, how can certainty arise for the ignorant?" If one has arrogance, even if there is no fault, if one speaks too much during teaching, it will cause boredom. If one speaks with reason, then there is no fault. However, without basis, exceeding the sutras, mixing with other teachings, and speaking contrary to one's own tenets, this is called the "ultimate word." To eliminate that fault, if one tries to become a vessel for hearing, it is also impossible, because of having arrogance. As it is said: "Not knowing is a happy satisfaction, especially knowing is very easy to satisfy. Whoever is content with knowing a little, even the Buddha cannot satisfy him." This is called sandalwood, sandalwood by nature has no fruit, and because it is surrounded by snakes with venomous fangs, no one approaches it, therefore it cannot be accepted. Thus, it is separated from the accumulation of merit and wisdom. It cannot accomplish self-benefit and the benefit of others. To demonstrate the precious jewel, "discipline" and so on are mentioned, just as the ground is the basis for causes and non-causes, the foundation of all qualities is disci
