Therefore, it is emptiness. External phenomena are form and so on. These forms and so on are empty by emptiness, which is external emptiness. Internal and external phenomena are empty by the nature of internal and external phenomena, which is internal-external emptiness. That which is empty of all phenomena is empty by that nature, which is the emptiness of emptiness. The directions such as east are empty by the nature of the directions such as east, which is great emptiness. The ultimate is nirvana, and it is also empty by the emptiness of nirvana, which is ultimate emptiness. Conditioned things are the three realms: the desire realm, the form realm, and the formless realm. They are empty by those, which is conditioned emptiness. That which is free from birth, abiding, and destruction is unconditioned. It is empty by that nature, which is unconditioned emptiness. Permanence and annihilation are extremes. They are empty by that nature, which is the emptiness of transcending extremes. That which has no beginning and no end has no true entity. There is no going or coming, and because it is empty of beginning, middle, and end, it is emptiness without beginning or end. Abandoning is cutting off, and that which is apart from that is non-abandoning. Because it is empty by that nature, it is non-abandoning emptiness. What is the nature of all phenomena? It is not made by anyone, nor is it unconditioned. Because it is empty by its own nature, it is emptiness of self-nature. All phenomena are conditioned and unconditioned, and because they are empty by that nature, it is the emptiness of all phenomena. All phenomena are empty by their own characteristics such as form, which is emptiness of self-characteristic. Because it is empty by the past, future, and present arising, it is the emptiness of the unobtainable. Phenomena arising from combination have no characteristics because they arise from dependent origination. Combination is empty by the nature of combination, which is self-nature. Because it is empty by its own nature, it is emptiness of self-nature. The nature of non-things, that thing is empty by that nature, which is the emptiness of the nature of non-things. Therefore, there are eighteen emptinesses.

It has been taught. Therefore, by attaining the three liberations, after the diamond-like samadhi, the Bodhisattva attains enlightenment on the twelfth ground, the Ground of Universal Light, and that is the perfectly complete Buddha. On that side, there is no attachment to desirable objects by the Hearers and others, because they have abandoned the manifestation of emptiness. As it is said: Things are like clothes, differing in many ways, when burned by the fire of emptiness, there is no distinction of ashes. The two worlds called vessel and sentient beings, having been burned by this, now themselves become extinguished like a lamp. It is said. Because of the urging of past aspirations and great compassion, the purpose of sentient beings is accomplished, so there is no aspect of annihilation. By constantly engaging in samadhi that is free from all elaboration, there is also no aspect of permanence, thus we, the Mahayana practitioners who speak of emptiness, are the aspect of samadhi that unites the nature of calm abiding and insight. Well, there is also the unmanifested, unconditioned liberation, why is that not taught? That is indeed existent, however, because of being accustomed to the third liberation, it is spontaneously accomplished without effort, like a drop of water. Therefore, although that is a cause of enlightenment, it is also a result because it is very close, and there is no fault. If those Madhyamikas say that there is no self-nature, then the Great Vehicle of Mantra becomes distinguished by many methods, as it is said: Because there is no confusion about the same meaning, there is no asceticism through many methods, relying on the sharpness of the faculties, the vehicle of mantra becomes particularly excellent. It is said. In this regard, just as the Paramita yogis attain the very nature of the wisdom of the Dharmadhatu, so too will the Great Vehicle of Mantra practitioners attain it, so there is no fault of wrongly conceiving the result. However, those people have delusion, for example, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, due to the power of great compassion, in order to perfect the perfection of generosity, gives away heads and so on to those who seek them, by that giving
