It is also said that it is meaningful. Here, the necessity is that it appears to be accomplished. The necessity of necessity is that it appears to be a matter of benefit, so it is enough to explain it in detail. Since sentient beings are introduced through necessity and so on, five types of individuals should be examined in order to show them. That is, sandalwood and so on, as mentioned above. Among them, the so-called sandalwood is only a type of ignorance, with little learning, and others are discouraged by the power of arrogance. Such a person cannot accomplish the benefit of himself and others, because he is a fool. The so-called Utpala, even if one enters the order of hearing and so on, is also in a state of forgetfulness, because the senses are dull. His own benefit does not exist in this life, because it will arise in other lives. The white lotus is that hearing and so on are held in one's own mind, and one cannot show it to others, so there is only self-interest, because the senses are mediocre. The so-called lotus is able to show it to others, because the senses are sharp. The so-called jewel is that it has the perfection of self-interest and other-interest, has the merits of discipline and so on, and is the lineage of Bodhisattva, because it is the best of the best senses. The four are suitable for the explanation of the conventional aspect, and one is suitable for the vessel of the supreme explanation of the ultimate meaning. These will be explained in great detail below. Others say that there are four types of people: those who do not know, those who doubt, those with inverted wisdom, and those with definite wisdom. Among them, there are two types of unknowing: those who follow प्रमाण (Sanskrit Devanagari: प्रमाण, Sanskrit Romanization: pramāṇa, Chinese literal meaning: measure), and those who do not follow प्रमाण (Sanskrit Devanagari: प्रमाण, Sanskrit Romanization: pramāṇa, Chinese literal meaning: measure). Among them, those who follow प्रमाण (Sanskrit Devanagari: प्रमाण, Sanskrit Romanization: pramāṇa, Chinese literal meaning: measure) are those who accept the reasoning of others and rely on the path through the order of hearing and so on. Those who do not follow प्रमाण (Sanskrit Devanagari: प्रमाण, Sanskrit Romanization: pramāṇa, Chinese literal meaning: measure) are those who rely on the words of the wise and enter the path. Both of these are suitable vessels for the path. There are also two types of doubt, as before. Doubting those who follow प्रमाण (Sanskrit Devanagari: प्रमाण, Sanskrit Romanization: pramāṇa, Chinese literal meaning: measure) is to be freed from doubt by correctly explaining प्रमाण (Sanskrit Devanagari: प्रमाण, Sanskrit Romanization: pramāṇa, Chinese literal meaning: measure) and placed on the correct path, and should be taken in this way. Doubting those who do not follow प्रमाण (Sanskrit Devanagari: प्रमाण, Sanskrit Romanization: pramāṇa, Chinese literal meaning: measure) is

Even the Bhagavan Tathagata should not be followed or accepted. As it is said: The ignorant are content with ignorance, especially the knowing are even more quickly content. One who knows only a part is like being half burned by fire, even the Buddha does not like that fire. Therefore, it is said to be a state of equanimity. Those with inverted minds are of three types: inverted in doubt, inverted in ignorance, and inverted in knowledge. Among them, those who are inverted in doubt, such as the Shravakas, who say that mantras are not the correct path, should not be accepted by any means, but only left in a state of equanimity. Those who are inverted in ignorance can be turned away from inversion and led onto the path simply by teaching the Dharma. Those who are inverted in knowledge are also of two types: those who follow valid cognition and those who do not follow valid cognition. Among them, those with inverted minds who do not follow valid cognition in knowledge cannot be led onto the path by anyone, because they have inverted views. Those with inverted minds who follow valid cognition in knowledge are of six types: the Samkhyas, the Naiyayikas, the Lokayatas, the worthy of offerings, the peaceful ones, and the speculators. All of these moving and unmoving things are the twenty-five realities. The five sense faculties are the five, such as the eye. The five action faculties are speech, hands, feet, the anus, and the secret organ. The five objects, such as form, the five great elements, such as earth, and the three internal functions, namely mind, intellect, and ego. The synonyms for the chief are nature and purusha. Among them, the twenty-three realities are both cause and effect. Nature is only the cause. Purusha is neither cause nor effect. As it is said: The root nature is not an action, the seven, such as the great one, are both cause and effect, the sixteen are only the effect, that which is neither cause nor effect is purusha. Its meaning is this: nature, which possesses the three qualities and is the cause of all embodied beings, is the chief.
