Or whatever is impure, it should be meditated upon in order to obtain or completely purify it. Whatever is naturally accomplished or completely pure, there is no need for meditation on it. If meditation is needed, then it will not become the ultimate truth. In order to show that, it is said that it is pure from the beginning. The constant is without defilement, and the uncontaminated is pure from the beginning. If that is the case, why should one practice the stages of mudra and samadhi in order to attain manifest enlightenment? It is said: By the connection of mudra or the manifestation of samadhi, luminosity is not something to be produced or practiced, because it is accomplished from the beginning. Only through mudra and samadhi can temporary defilements be removed, but it is not the attainment of that one and only suchness. That one and only suchness is self-appearing, like the sky. As it is said: The purity of the water element, gold, and sky, I wish to be as pure as that. Therefore, this shows the fourth stage of entering luminosity, which has characteristics. That which is said to be the nature of conventional truth, the illusory body to be attained by the third stage, that is also not to be meditated upon, it should not be thought about. That which is said to be untrue, is because the fourth stage depends on complete purification. The so-called aspect, etc., this shows the samadhi of the stage of union. The so-called nature of the two truths is the samadhi of union in which conventional truth and ultimate truth are inseparable. The so-called meditation on things does not change, that is, it should not be thought about. Why is that? Because merely seeing the two truths as non-dual will lead to liberation, that is, merely the manifestation of the non-abiding nirvana realm of the nature of the two truths being inseparable will lead to the attainment of liberation. Therefore, etc., shows the brief summary of the stage of union, the meditator is the yogi, the meditation is the wisdom of meditation, and what should be meditated upon is the key instruction that can be meditated upon. Like this, manifest clinging is this very conceptual thought.

Those who realize the stage of union attain the realm of non-abiding nirvana. Yogis do not possess it; this is a concluding statement, because they do not seek it. Abiding in the Samadhi of union, in what field will they not be reborn? This is the perfect yoga, that is the great Vajradhara. From the all-knowing one, endowed with all supreme aspects, it transforms. In the past and the future, and in the three realms that arise in the present, in an instant, without exception, he sees with the clear and pure grasp of luminosity. Thus it is said. "Spoken by the Great Vajradhara" is the word of the compiler. The ultimate meaning refers to luminosity and to the demonstration of union. Thus, by the meaning of the letters, the suchness of emptiness, which is a branch of the generation stage, is shown, and by the practice of the three doors of liberation in the general meaning, the meaning characterized by eliminating the regret of the Sutra school and others is shown. By the hidden meaning, the purification of the mind and the stages of blessing oneself are shown. By the ultimate meaning, luminosity is indicated, and the stages of union are shown. Thus, the verses of the Great Vajradhara show one aspect of the generation stage and also the completion stage, except for Vajra recitation. "All the Tathagatas" refers to the five Vajradharas. "In all ways" refers to the activities of body, speech, and mind. "Luminosity" is the nature of the luminosity of the Tathagatas, the reason being that it transcends. "Focusing on that Samadhi" is a concluding term for the Samadhi of manifest enlightenment to be attained through the stages of mudra and Samadhi. "Having become a vessel" and so on refers to all things such as self and Isvara. "Separate from all" means separate from them. Therein, "self" does not exist according to the reasoning previously stated. Therein, how do the qualities such as permanence transform? "Self" is not a real thing. How can one speak of an agent? If there is a subject, worldly people will develop excellent thoughts about the Dharma. The aggregates are not the self, it is not that.
