It is not so. It is the Vipāka-vijñāna (resultant consciousness), the Mano-vijñāna (mental consciousness), and the Pravṛtti-vijñāna (entering consciousness). Some believe that the six Pravṛtti-vijñānas are combined into one, which is one consciousness. As it is said: "Objects and sentient beings, self-consciousness, Appear separately and increase greatly, That consciousness is meaningless, Without it, it does not exist. One is the consciousness of conditions, The second has the nature of near practice, Enjoyment is fully enjoyed, And the instigator arises from the mind." Thus it appears. Similarly, "Vipāka is my mind, And it can recognize objects." Thus it appears. Similarly, "The state of being alone appears as two, Because the nature of the mind itself is confused, The difference between the grasped and the grasper, Is it not nothing to the extremely wise?" Thus and so on appear. Name and form are of four kinds: feeling, perception, and formation are formless aggregates. Form is the aggregate of form, the eleven kinds of sense organs, objects, and non-revealing forms. Thus, name and form are the nature of the four aggregates. The six sense bases are: eye base, ear base, nose base, tongue base, body base, and mind base. That which is born from the gathering of sense organs, objects, and consciousness is contact. Feeling is the experience of three kinds: the nature of pleasure, pain, and equanimity. Moreover, it transforms into eighteen kinds by the distinctions of eye and so on. Birth is also of four kinds: egg-born, moisture-born, womb-born, and miraculously born. Hell beings, hungry ghosts, animals, gods, demigods, and humans, by these distinctions there are six, some think so. There are also two kinds of distinctions between bad destinies and good destinies. Aging is also the characteristic of being separated from ability. Death is the abandonment of the aggregates, the nature of the moment of consciousness residing in sensation, those seven dharmas are birth, because the born is associated with the seven dharmas such as consciousness. These afflictions, actions, and births cause the assembly of sentient beings dwelling in the three realms to revolve like a water wheel, thus obtaining from one state to another.
