That which is called, because it is the cause of wanting and clinging, is desire, namely form and so on. For those, the senses repeatedly gather and obtain in their respective ways, so it is called separate gathering, which is the explanation of the first branch. In order to purify the separate gathering, to show the second branch, it is said "the five desires are" and so on. The five desires are the forms and so on that have become the objects of the five senses, which are briefly, that is, having become one with the senses. The five Buddhas are the eye and so on, and their union is united into the five Buddhas by properly uniting, therefore forms and so on are also Buddhas. That completely pure observation that has become like that is called meditation. That also changes into five kinds by the distinction of investigation and so on, and what is called investigation and so on is the explanation of its distinction. The senses and the objects and the consciousness of the senses are the three secrets, the five senses and the consciousness of the senses and their objects are, the nature of the five Tathagatas is, that which is investigated is investigation. To discriminate and observe on that is to observe the dwelling place. After observing like that, entering into that onlyness and appearing to tend towards it, whatever has the nature of mental happiness is touching joy. Manifestly entering into that onlyness, whatever happiness is obtained that has the nature of extreme pliancy of the body and so on is encompassed by happiness. Because of reaching the ultimate end from such pliancy, consciousness, that is, the aspect of the entry of the six, the eye and so on, and what is to be known, that is, what arises from form and so on up to the realm of Dharma, is the arising of consciousness and what is to be known. The cessation of that is the emptiness of the mind's grasper and grasped, therefore the mind whose nature is wisdom, the single root, is called one's own mind. Such a mind is all the Buddhas, the reality of peace, merely appearing and all emptiness becoming one and ultimately arising, this is the five kinds of distinction of the second branch. In the five wisdoms called and so on, like a mirror and so on is the breath of the nature of the five wisdoms, and again that nature of earth and so on has its own vajra hole

Having arisen, at the tip of the lotus stamen, in the shape of a sphere, the bodhicitta ༄། Should be meditated upon in the form of a bindu of mind. That upward-moving breath is of five colors, the nature of the five Tathagatas. That itself is the jewel. Life is living. Whatever is effort and prolonged expansion is said to be life and effort. It should be known that it is repeated day and night by the nature of entering, etc. One's own mantra in the heart, that is, thinking on the lotus of one's own heart, life is placed as becoming a bindu. This is said to belong to the indestructible, it is the third limb. One's own body, etc. The senses are the eyes, etc. In that, two senses are negated and definitely dissolved, and below that, the jewel that has become the support of the object and the senses, that is, the jewel of the mind, together with life and effort, is negated, and whatever is the apprehended that has disappeared is said to be the apprehender. What is that? It is called the true limit. The mind becomes the vajra of cessation. Appearances closely arise. In this sentence, the vajra of cessation is luminosity. Becoming that is the mind becoming that. The close grasping of appearances is the close grasping of appearances, that is, appearing as appearances. Arising is to be born. The realm of appearances is fivefold. The Bodhi Vajra is spoken of. This sentence means that when earth dissolves into water, from that it appears like a mirage, this is the first appearance. Similarly, when water dissolves into fire, it is like smoke, this is the second. When fire dissolves into wind, it is like the appearance of space, this is the third. When all the subtle elements become three appearances, the nature of the collection that appears like an illusion is the fourth. When all of nature dissolves into appearance, it is like a cloudless sky, constantly appearing, becoming only luminosity, this is the fifth. Through those five appearances, nirvana will be attained. That is also as It is said, in the differentiation of the edge of karma: First it dissolves into water. Water also dissolves into fire. Fire then dissolves into wind. Wind also dissolves into consciousness.
