Seeing this, one knows it is unstable. Therefore, if one only accepts the aggregates as self, then, I will also become impermanent. If one says that the aggregates are impermanent, but I am not, then, how can there be a relationship of self-nature between them? Because of their existence, there exists a Dharma nature that corresponds in an undifferentiated way. Then, the self-nature is also two things, with differences made by distinguishing from others, for example, wood and shapa, with differences made by not being wood and not being shapa. Similarly, the aggregates and I will also be considered as permanent and impermanent. Do not say that! The so-called "distinction" refers to the negation of non-existence, not the negation of non-being. The negation of non-existence is the characteristic of non-existence separated from all abilities. Therefore, it cannot truly touch things. Merely through the wisdom of conceptual thought, distinguishing distinction only as distinction, and imposing differences on undifferentiated things. In order to make others believe, the terms Dharma and Dharmic are used, but there is no difference in things themselves. If so, because it is examined by valid cognition, it is impossible to obtain things definitively. It will be obtained, because valid cognition is examination. In particular, it refers to subsequent inference. As long as the function of valid cognition is the manifestation of conceptual thought, at the moment of non-conceptual thought, valid cognition and the object to be measured are reversed, the characteristics of Dharma and the absence of self of the individual, the true meaning, non-conceptual, naturally appear in the continuum of the yogi, just like the Tathagata. As it is said, these terms that can be inferred are the logic of Dharma and Dharmic existing in wisdom, because the distinction between Dharma and Dharmic is caused by the form of wisdom, not by things themselves. Similarly, "It is not real, it is completely distinction." "Things are only thoroughly established." "The sign is not a common realm." "It is said that it does not dwell in difference." Therefore, the distinction from others is not an existing thing. Things are only undifferentiated. Therefore, the aggregates and I, because they are undifferentiated, will become impermanent. If one says not to let such a fault occur, then, I am the basis aggregate.

If you say there is a self, that is also unreasonable, because the so-called self (བདག་, ātman) cannot be established by valid cognition ( प्रमाण , pramāṇa), just like the aggregates (ཕུང་པོ་, skandha). Even if there is a self, it is unreasonable for an impermanent thing to be based on a permanent basis, like space and a pot. It is unreasonable for the nature of a basis and a thing based on it to exist in things that are form (གཟུགས་ཅན་, rūpin) and formless (གཟུགས་ཅན་མ་ཡིན་པ་, arūpin). Even if there is a basis, does the basis help those things, or is it different from them? Since it does not help, there is no basis and no thing based on it. Otherwise, it would be too extreme. If it helps, with what nature does it help? If it is like preventing a fall, like a tree trunk and a begging bowl, if that is the case, then the tree trunk prevents the fall, and by creating another dharma of not falling, the begging bowl becomes the cause (རྒྱུ་, hetu) itself. Therefore, this relationship between basis and thing based on it is the nature of cause and effect. Therefore, the cause is the basis, and the thing with the cause is the effect. If the effect arises, then the cause will perish, so the self (བདག་, ātman) is impermanent. The basis does not explicitly help the thing based on it, but rather through a difference in power (ནུས་པ་, śakti)? If that is the case, then the power itself is what helps, but what does the self (བདག་, ātman) do? Or only the self (བདག་, ātman) helps, what does the power do? Or the power is what helps, but is it different or the same as the self (བདག་, ātman)? If it is different, then why is it called the power of the self (བདག་, ātman)? If it is the same, then only the self (བདག་, ātman) helps, not the power. If the different power acts through the relationship with the self (བདག་, ātman), then is the relationship called "of the self (བདག་, ātman)" its own nature, or which of the relationships that arise from it? If it is its own nature, then just like before, since it is not different, the sixth different relationship is unreasonable. If it arises from it, then the self (བདག་, ātman) is the cause, so the power is the effect, and it will arise and perish. Or if you say it like this: Here there are two situations: the effect and the agent. The effect itself will be exhausted, but the agent itself will not be exhausted. Here is an example: the branches, shoots, leaves, flowers, and fruits of a poisonous tree gradually perish, but the poisonous tree itself does not perish. Here is the answer: the coarse manifestation.
