Etc., is the meaning of these three letters. The meaning of A is the great Vajradhara. As it is said: The wisdom revealed by the letter A is the essence of the Buddhas. Having said that, one should recite through such meaning. Similarly, the recitation of understanding the meaning is, the good without self-nature. By, the Buddhas of the three times observe, that is called Vajra recitation. Thus it is said. The Suchness of mantra is Thusness, because all mantras arise from luminosity and dissolve into it. What is luminosity? If a yogi knows that everything is emptiness, the true ultimate nature, then he will be looked upon and worshiped by people like the lord of the three realms. Therefore, if someone does not understand the Suchness of mantra, then everything he does is fruitless. As it is said: Teeth, lips, palate, and tongue, whatever is moved, abiding in change, how can that be a letter? Therefore, the self-nature of letters is not what mantras desire. Because even the supreme veins cannot hook. Similarly, in the later part of the Compendium Sutra, it is also said: Relying on the senses and objects, and the mind arising from them, that is called "Man." "Tra" means to protect. The so-called recitation, all speech is said to be mantra, mantra is to protect the mind, that is explained through differentiation. Thus it is said. Considering this meaning, in the Tantra of Explaining the Intentional Prediction of the Compendium, it is also said: The first one is in the center of nine, whatever is not bound by ten, that is called unbound, knowing it is the supreme place. Vowels and consonants, following the number nine, bound by A, mutually and correctly joined, whoever knows it, he is the lord of beings. Whoever knows and desires accomplishment, formless and without form, is the perfect fruit of liberation, then he will obtain it. Perfectly endowed with the element's end, abiding in sixteen parts, such as fractions, the fifth five is truly endowed, four must be combined with three, the letter Om together with Lengyan, qualities combined are like a child.

I. (Seed syllable) Short, nothing remains, it transforms into speech, not one but many. Syllable! It is not like that. Whatever the meaning of "ya" may be, it is about desiring accomplishment. Ra and the others, the three of them, are deeply involved in the meaning of going. Whatever letter was spoken of before, and whatever manifestly inclines, female, male, and neuter, contemplate the elements and so on. When arranged from below to above, know it and definitely combine the mind. Saying six, four, three, and one, non-essence born from essence, when those "ya" and other meanings are combined, the wisdom of the three times will arise. When beings are at the end of nine, make them like dreams and optical illusions. These are the mantras that are spoken, born from non-essence and essence. After that, the form that completely transforms, whatever deity is closely visualized, that itself is the symbolic gesture of the three places, the characteristic of reciting one's own nature. It cannot be spoken and cannot be shown. This is the best of the mind of enlightenment. That is the transformation of the three into one. There is no arising and no going. There is no cessation and it is the fourth nature. Permanence and annihilation are completely abandoned. The three times are symbolized by wisdom. It is the characteristic of indivisible space. This arises from ultimate truth. It is the characteristic of individual self-awareness. All things such as dwelling, for yogis in all activities, cannot be spoken and cannot be shown. Transcending the three times, constantly recite. Reciting and explaining white garments and so on, two hundred and twenty-five, when the four are well combined, the four unions are condensed into nine hundred. What is shown in nine hundred and eighty, the twenty-four in order, that is what arises separately, twenty-one thousand six hundred. Thus, from the necessity of secrecy, the subtle yoga is very stable. That which has no meaning of contemplation, even so, is said to be recited. Thus it arises. In such a sequence, the sequence of vajra recitation is shown. Now, the sequence of focusing on the mind will be shown. Its distinctions are as follows: the alaya-vijñana, the mind-consciousness with afflictions, and the six, such as eye-consciousness. These are the nature of the eight consciousnesses. This three-realm, in good and bad migrations, is the chariot of afflictions and karmic imprints.
