One should meditate on the stages of the wisdom mudrā. The stages of the mudrā show the mind's purification. Now, the stages of self-blessing will be explained. First, here, having purified the mind through the previously explained stages, in order to abandon attachment to the ultimate truth, and in order to accomplish the benefit of sentient beings, and in order to regard the activities of maṇḍala, mantra recitation, meditation, and so forth as like illusions, the stages of seeing the conventional truth are to be undertaken. The order of that is as follows: From that very clear light, one should also immediately possess the body adorned with the thirty-two marks and eighty minor marks, making the aggregates, elements, and sense bases all of pure essence, surrounded by the maṇḍala deities, like the city of gandharvas, the moon in water, the echo in a valley, reflections, illusions, mirages, dreams, fire wheels, snakes, and so forth, exemplified by examples, like Indra's bow, five-colored, radiating circles of light, the body of the great Vajradhara held by the yogi, that is the illusory body, the complete enjoyment, the nature of the snake's body, is called self-blessing. That is the body of illusory nature, seeing the conventional truth, the vajra body, that is, Vajrasattva. Therefore, the very essence of all Buddhas should be worshiped and prostrated to. Whatever is seen and touched externally should also be regarded as before. Mudrās, maṇḍalas, fire offerings, recitations, meditations, holdings, and whatever practices are primarily engaged in contemplation, should also be regarded in the same way. Therefore, if someone acts without knowing this samādhi, everything will become fruitless like offering ashes in a fire. The accumulation of merit and wisdom will be obtained from this very thing. In all activities, one should act with this very samādhi, and like Vajradhara, the three realms should also be made of that essence, this is the first stage of self-blessing.

It is like this. Secondly, for example, first, just like before, through the process of gradually approaching, rising from the clear light, one will see a vision similar to a time interval. At that time, one will enter the wisdom of obtaining the vision. After that, in another instant, contemplate the vajra above the center of the sun, and above it arrange the principal deity of letters adorned with two bindus. Because it resembles the vision of the sun, one will see the vision. At that time, one will enter the wisdom of the increasing vision. After that, after abiding in the center of the lotus and the moon, one will see the accompanying sound resembling the vision of the moon. At that time, one will enter the wisdom of vision. Thus, by correctly combining the essence of method and wisdom, the rays of the two letters of the sun, lotus, and vajra, the body of the deity will arise. For that divine body, one should also seal it with the four mudras such as summoning, and abide in the pride of the great Vajradhara. If it arises from the clear light, then the imagined divine body is also like an illusion, therefore it is completely pure. The previous one is also completely pure, because there is no conceptualization. This is the sequence of illusion-like samadhi.

Although it is devoid of form, it will still be combined with those subtle entities, because it exists in the time of arising and in the habitual tendencies. That co-emergent nature of clear light, the suchness that you experience, is devoid of night, day, and twilight, so that which is devoid of nature is it alone. Here, the external example is, just as the sun has not risen and the horizon has disappeared, and the appearance of night occurs, and the sharp intellect can depict the difference of an instant, similarly, when the wisdom of the appearance of the nature of joy has passed away, and the wisdom of the appearance of the nature of joylessness has not yet arisen, and when the wisdom of the appearance of the nature of supreme joy is exhausted, like the momentary difference that is difficult to depict like a flash of lightning, for that difference, you should diligently engage in the practice of meditation and experience. Because, that son of suchness, is devoid of beginning, middle, and end, and is also the nature of the end, going, coming, and exhaustion, growth and things, and non-things, merit and sin, existence and non-existence, abiding and going, wonderful and not wonderful, having obtained all emptiness, whether closing the eyes or opening them, with a seat or without one, straight or crooked, keeping silent or speaking, with a body or without a body, whether residing as a king or a subject, you are said to be all-knowing. By the view of external manifest enlightenment, the stages of internal manifest enlightenment are shown. The second method is, for example, from then on, in order to show that very instruction to the disciple who has received the oral instruction, first one should meditate on the samadhi of complete retention. For this, the order is as follows: On the central spoke of the eight-spoked wheel of the dharmadhatu, contemplate the letter resembling the burning fire of the eon, and the wheel of light rays arising from it, starting from the head and burning down to the feet, like breath dissolving into a mirror, one should see one's own body as the nature of clear light. This is the samadhi of complete retention. Similarly, from that very letter, radiate a wheel of light rays, and that wheel of light rays first burns the vessel and the world realm, and then similarly oneself.
