Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, rely on the vows of the Three Jewels. Thus, for the Buddha lineage, become a keeper of vows. Vajra, bell, and mudra, you of great wisdom should hold. Bodhicitta is Vajra, wisdom is said to be the bell. Also, hold the guru, the guru is the same as all Buddhas. This is said to be the vow of the pure Vajra lineage. For the great Jewel lineage, three times day and night, always give the four kinds of generosity: wealth, fearlessness, Dharma, and love. You should hold the excellent Dharma of the outer, inner, and secret three vehicles. This is the supreme vow of the pure Lotus lineage. For the great Karma lineage, in order to possess all vows, each should hold their own nature. Also, do the work of offering as much as possible. Furthermore, these fourteen that are spoken of are known as defeats. It should be known that these are the root defeats, recite them three times daily and three times nightly, every day. Vajra brothers are good friends, and yogis should be served. Do not abandon or discard them, and practice correctly as much as possible. Do not desire inferior vehicles, do not completely abandon samsara, and do not always delight in nirvana. Do not despise the deities of the three secrets of body, speech, and mind. Do not trample on mudras, mounts, weapons, and symbols. Do not kill living beings, do not take what is not given, do not commit sexual misconduct, and do not speak lies. Abandon all that is not to be done, do not turn your back on the benefit of sentient beings, abide in virtue, yoga.
