From "By this double," using the distance between each small part, draw two lines for the meaning of precious summer cloth and arrow shaft. If those, as said, eight small parts, become four small parts, how to say? "That half" and so on, that is to say, that of ༄. On half of the two directions, two sides should be drawn. On both sides, with the sameness of shapes such as lines, they exist like a combination. These tell of the ultimate of the arrow shaft, the palace with wheels. These are just brief instructions, the complete ones should be understood in other tantras. Those themselves say, "Thread rope" and so on, the mark of the thread rope is, this is called a mark. The thread rope mark is a small part, which is sixty-four. Because of removing distinctions, "mandala" refers to the mandala. With how much distance is the mandala of sixty-four small parts? Saying "All around wheel" and so on, the circumference of the wheel is a vajra chain. By ritual means by doors and door frames and edges and sides and steps and so on, by the order of distinctions. How to do it? Saying as it is. Or, if Brahma and corners and root lines all exist, what should be done? Saying "First" and so on, as before. Again, it refers to how far between the precious cloths. From that, it refers to the meaning of net and half-net cloth. From that, four times refers to how far the precious summer cloth and half of the steps are. In the direction of sixty-four small parts, the steps are also four small parts above. Again, it refers to the meaning of separating the steps. From that, it refers to the meaning of the wheel and fence of two small parts. From that, it refers to drawing two lines with the distance between two small parts, for the meaning of the chain of petals and the chain of vajras and the chain of rays. Are the chain of petals and the chain of vajras also two small parts each? That is the position of two small parts beyond the line of the fence edge, to be drawn in two half directions, which means half like ༄. What has become like that, the same direction.

Both places should be written. Therefore, the positions of the lotus and the vajra garland will become small parts. Here also, because the Bhagavan resides in the palace surrounded by the eight great charnel grounds, the charnel grounds should also be written, as stated in the Vajra, etc. This is the external meaning. The Acharya who wishes to draw the mandala, in order to be free from obstacles, blesses with nectar pills, precedes with the offering of torma, and according to the ritual described in the chapter of the deities, visualizes himself as the wheel of the deity, and recites its mantra one hundred thousand times, etc. Until one is able to completely and clearly generate and absorb the image of the lord of the wheel, including the wheel, simultaneously on oneself, and has particular confidence, and obtains its permission, this is the preliminary practice ritual. Then, in some pleasant places, in order to draw the mandala, at night, with good incense, etc., one makes the mandala of the deity one desires and offers it properly. After giving the torma, one places them in the sky and satisfies the field protectors, etc., who dwell there with the tormas. "Any gods and nagas dwelling here, yakshas, rakshasas, or other beings, for the sake of the mandala, I now request you to grant (permission)." (Recite) three times. They will give in dreams, or knowing that there is no hindrance, in the morning of the next day, pray to the Bhagavan and his retinue dwelling in the sky, and then, thinking of permission in the mind, at noon, meditate on the protective wheel, thereby destroying obstacles, recite the mantra of all activities, and sweep and scatter the ground with mustard seeds, water, and ashes, and immediately sit in the vajra posture.
