Having discriminated from cessation, the Thus-Gone (Sanskrit: Tathāgata, IAST: tathāgata, literal meaning: one who has thus gone) enters into one's own nature. This is its meaning. Or, from the action of discriminating cessation, it is understood as "gone." Now, for the supreme sovereign, the great wisdom of emptiness of all kinds is explained: It is not non-existent, nor is it existent, it is obtained by practicing the samaya, because of the nature of experience, it is difficult to find in the three realms. Regarding "It is not non-existent," this indicates that it is used as a symbol of the appearance of conventional reality. Regarding "nor is it existent," this indicates that it has revealed the view of ultimate truth. Why is that? Because for all phenomena, emptiness is the nature. Whatever is nature is emptiness. From these, the great wisdom of emptiness of all kinds, because it is without support, is ultimate truth, because it has support, it is the appearance of conventional reality. Therefore, the words "it is obtained by practicing the samaya" are spoken. Or, samaya refers to the root, the practice of these is action, or all actions, or arising through contact, or the taste of nectar dripping from comprehension. Obtaining means knowing its taste, the great wisdom of joy as it is, the glorious king of vows. Because of the nature of one's own experience, and so on. Blessed! The word "own" refers to the mind's consciousness that is free from habitual tendencies and the like. Regarding the word "experience," experience is feeling with the nature of wisdom, the consciousness of the mind. "Nature" refers to being completely beyond existence and non-existence. Or, "own" refers to experiencing the nature that is free from karmic seals. Or, the word "own" refers to the joy of one's own nature. "Experience" refers to the view of wisdom that is free from elaboration from that. By view alone, the nature is completely known. By completely knowing, everything is not external. Because it is not external, it is difficult to find in the three realms. The three realms are the desire realm, the form realm, and the formless realm. Or, the three realms are the three joys. Difficult to find means not obtaining joys with characteristics and so on. Why is that? Because it is the nature of one's own experience. This is its meaning. For wisdom with characteristics...

Whatever realms are attained are the forms of conventional truth. That which is attained without characteristics is the ultimate truth. Similarly, the venerable Śāntarakṣita said: In the teaching on existence and liberation from sorrow, the nature of that which has support is joy, possessing the cause of three joys. That which is without support is also the same, pervaded by three joys. Thus he spoke. Whatever has support and whatever is without support, the abandonment of those is the nature of self-experience, this is my thought. Now, dwelling in the self-nature of great wisdom, which is without support, is explained: In things, support, and differentiation, it abides in the beginning, middle, and end. Stirring and the means of stirring are combined, abiding as it is, and so forth, are taught. Among these, "thing" means the view that is not mistaken about wisdom. "Support" means the stability that arises from wisdom, transcending wisdom. Because these are not pervasive, they are differentiated. Because they cannot be found sequentially, they are also without support. That is also the side of ultimate truth. On the side of conventional truth, "thing" is bliss, "support" is the essence of the secret lotus, and "wisdom" is experiencing great bliss in the place of the essence. "Differentiation" is divided into two: the differentiation of support and, similarly, the differentiation of stability. That which falls into wisdom is the differentiation of support. After differentiating wisdom and so forth, that which has no appearance in the sky in the manner of being free from east and west is the meaning of what is called the differentiation of support. Abiding in the beginning, middle, and end. Among these, the word "beginning" is rising. The middle is the rest of the clear appearance. The end is the rest of non-appearance. Or else, "beginning, middle, and end" are the three appearances of suchness itself. It is thought that the nature of things, support, wisdom, and differentiation always enters into it. Or else, the beginning is not rising. The end is not falling. The middle is abiding in the nature of being without support. Now, in the supreme mastery, the dwelling place of the ultimate support is explained: "Stirring and the means of stirring are combined." "Stirring" is the nature of skillful means, existence. The means of stirring is the nature of wisdom, liberation from sorrow. "Combination" is knowing the self-nature of those.
