The four right abandonments are to completely abandon what does not arise again by means of the antidote of abandonment. What are the four right abandonments? That is, to abandon sinful, non-virtuous dharmas that have arisen, not to generate sinful, non-virtuous dharmas that have not arisen, to properly protect virtuous dharmas that have arisen, and to generate virtuous dharmas that have not arisen. Magical power is perfect concentration. Its branches are the four legs of magical power, namely, the leg of magical power of aspiration, the leg of magical power of diligence, the leg of magical power of investigation, and the leg of magical power of mind. Among them, aspiration is the thought that is combined with the intention of abandonment, necessarily relies on solitude, detachment, and cessation, and is completely transformed by being closely related to them. Solitude is the path, that is, abandoning the obscurations of afflictions. Detachment is nirvana. Cessation is being separated from the aggregates with outflows. Relying on these is relying on solitude, detachment, and cessation. Being closely related is being separated from all compounded things. Being completely transformed is being perfected from them. Likewise, diligence, mind, and investigation also have five branches each. Since wisdom has power over this, faith and so on are also explained as faculties, just like the eye and so on. There are also five types of these: the faculty of faith, the faculty of diligence, the faculty of mindfulness, the faculty of concentration, and the faculty of wisdom. Among them, faith is the mind's faith in experiencing the fruits of actions of correct views of the world and beyond. The mind's manifest exertion is diligence. Properly guiding the dharmas that rely on the faculty of faith is the faculty of diligence. Not forgetting the meanings that are closely guided by the faculty of diligence is the faculty of mindfulness. Whatever makes manifest the dharmas that have not deteriorated by the faculty of mindfulness is explained as the faculty of concentration. Whatever distinguishes the dharmas that rely on the faculty of concentration is explained as the faculty of wisdom. Disbelief, etc.

Laziness, forgetfulness, carelessness, and distraction, etc., the elimination of unfavorable factors, and the attainment of ultimate perfection, therefore it is said that only ability is strength. For example: the power of faith, the power of diligence, the power of mindfulness, the power of concentration, and the power of wisdom. Because one realizes it correctly by oneself, it is enlightenment, which is the mind that transcends dualistic grasping. What becomes its cause is the limb of enlightenment. These seven are: right mindfulness enlightenment limb, dharma discrimination right enlightenment limb, joy right enlightenment limb, samadhi right enlightenment limb, diligence right enlightenment limb, equanimity right enlightenment limb, and perfect tranquility right enlightenment limb. Among them, accomplishing the benefit of all sentient beings, as well as the aspiration to attain perfect enlightenment, and not forgetting hearing and upholding, etc., are the right mindfulness enlightenment limb. Because dharmas and so on do not exist, distinguishing the aggregates and so on is the dharma discrimination right enlightenment limb. The mind of one taste of dharmata is the joy right enlightenment limb. By cutting off the habits of self and self-possession of the antidotes, the body and mind are capable of being perfect tranquility right enlightenment limb. Focusing on one point in the four immeasurables, suchness, the true edge, emptiness, and the realm of dharma is the samadhi right enlightenment limb. The karma of each individual being will definitely arise is the diligence right enlightenment limb. As an antidote to afflictions, not abandoning the actions of body, speech, and mind is the equanimity right enlightenment limb. Because it is the antidote to afflictions that are completely consistent with sin, whoever possesses these eight noble path limbs is the eightfold path. Seeking for the sake of meditation to eliminate the obscuration of knowledge, therefore it is the path. Among them, the names of the eight noble path limbs are right view, right thought, right speech, right action, and right livelihood.
