can illuminate. If it is the nature of being illuminated by others, then it must also be illuminated by others, so it would be endless. Even if there is slightly no object to be illuminated and illuminator, beings will become blind and mute. Moreover, whatever is "this" and "not this," etc., since there are no terms for establishing and refuting the nature of objects, time, and nature, all terms will be cut off. It is not like that either. This refutes the views of others. Because if consciousness is the nature of illuminating itself, then how can its object of knowledge be illuminated? Because the nature of consciousness does not grasp the object of knowledge, and the object of knowledge itself does not grasp consciousness. These two are extremely different, which has already been established earlier. If, even though they are extremely different, just as red substance and white substance mixed together become red, and just as woolen cloth and the like in the darkness become clear by being close to bright objects such as lamps, so also knowledge illuminates the object of knowledge by being close to it, that is not possible. Because the analogy of knowledge and the object of knowledge being extremely different cannot be established. Because in that way, the analogy is the nature of the object of knowledge, not the nature of knowledge. These two are extremely different, not like the nature of knowledge appearing as the nature of clarity, the nature without its nature is the analogy. Whatever becomes an analogy, because the meaning established by valid cognition is established as an analogy, and it also exists in a way that is different from valid cognition. It is being illuminated, how can it illuminate something that is not its nature? Thus, since the analogy is not established, the desired meaning cannot be established at all. All beings will become deaf and mute, etc. Because if knowledge is born or unborn, on the side of being born, it arises from causes such as form. If it does not exist, it will not arise, that is, with form, without form, or with another form. Among these, in the first case, the relationship between its nature and what arises from it does not exist for the object of knowledge and knowledge. How can the different object of knowledge, with the nature of clarity...

Therefore, such a thought will arise, but it will not change. Thus, since the knowable does not arise, there is no form of that knowledge. Since there is no understanding in the form of that knowledge, the understanding of things is established only as imputed, and there is no understanding of things in all cases. In terms of permanence and impermanence, existence and non-existence, since there is no self-nature of it and it does not arise from it, and since it is distinct, it is separated from its form, so it should not be considered as a branch for establishing it as before. Since there is no self-nature of it and it does not arise from it, other connections should not be examined either, because that is for the purpose of providing assistance from close proximity. If it does not provide assistance, then it will fall into the faults pointed out earlier. If it provides assistance, then it will fall into the aspect of arising from it, because that is what needs to be examined later. In any case, the aspect of not being gray is not a branch for establishing others. The aspect that is not it is the aspect that arises from it. In this regard, it is definitely not produced by external objects. Knowledge itself appears as the form of objects, but it is not produced by separate objects. Just as the consciousness of dreams, which arises from the stream of consciousness since beginningless time, as the immediately preceding cause, so too, saying that consciousness is the same, then why, after closing the doors and windows and lying down in the room, closing the eyes and falling asleep, does the consciousness of the form of elephants and horses, etc., which are larger than the room, arise, and even without elephants, etc., does the form of objects arise? That is the form of knowledge appearing in a dream, but it is unreasonable to think that it is caused by horses, etc. Even without the function of the eyes, they appear separately. Why is it that closing the eyes is like being blind, and there are no forms and colors appearing separately? If it is said that the function of the eyes also exists in the close attention to it, then it is true that close attention to it exists. Without close attention to it, it would not be established. However, the sense faculty of the eyes itself does not exist. For the blind and those who are asleep, even without it, there are forms such as blue in dreams. How can they not change in their separate appearances? How can appearing as dead not change? Whether in a dream or in a waking state, it does not exist, because his body has been burned by fire.
