is the best of all letters. It is called the letter "vam". (Seed Syllable, Tibetan: བཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: vam, Sanskrit Romanization: vam, Literal Chinese Meaning: vam). The great and sacred letter is "akṣara", meaning immutable. (Seed Syllable, Tibetan: ཨ་ཀྵ་ར་, Sanskrit Devanagari: akṣara, Sanskrit Romanization: akṣara, Literal Chinese Meaning: immutable). As it is said in the Sixty Thousand Magical Net Tantra: There is no letter as the birthplace of mantras, The great secret mantra is of three kinds, Five great empty letters, Six bindu empty letters. This has two kinds of symbolism, one is the symbolism of speech, and the other is the symbolism of suchness. The symbolism of mantra is the expression of speech, which is worldly. The symbolism of suchness is the ultimate truth, which is beyond expression. The Bhagavan said this in the vehicle of mantra. Thus, Nirvana is the realm of wisdom, immeasurable and inexpressible. The characteristics of vowels and consonants are said to be inexpressible. With the realm of space and so on, the symbolism of mantra is the characteristic of the expression of speech from the throat and so on, which the Bhagavan has spoken. Among them, the five great empty letters are: the realm of consciousness, the letter "a" like a curved hook in the center. (Seed Syllable, Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: a, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Literal Chinese Meaning: a). Above is the realm of formation and wind, the letter "a" like a stick. (Seed Syllable, Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: a, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Literal Chinese Meaning: a). To the right is the realm of feeling and fire, the letter "a" like a short vertical line. (Seed Syllable, Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: a, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Literal Chinese Meaning: a). To the left is the realm of perception and water, the letter "a" like a bindu. (Seed Syllable, Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: a, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Literal Chinese Meaning: a). Below is the realm of form and earth, the letter "a" like a plowshare. (Seed Syllable, Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: a, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Literal Chinese Meaning: a). Thus, these five letters are the letter "vam", symbolizing the nature of Vajrasattva. (Seed Syllable, Tibetan: བཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: vam, Sanskrit Romanization: vam, Literal Chinese Meaning: vam). Above the previous five symbols, the consonant "ka" symbolizing consciousness and so on, is the realm of space. (Seed Syllable, Tibetan: ཀ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ka, Sanskrit Romanization: ka, Literal Chinese Meaning: ka). To the east, the section of "ca" symbolizing formations and so on, is the realm of wind. (Seed Syllable, Tibetan: ཙ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ca, Sanskrit Romanization: ca, Literal Chinese Meaning: ca). To the south, the section of "ṭa" symbolizing feeling and so on, is the realm of fire. (Seed Syllable, Tibetan: ཊ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ṭa, Sanskrit Romanization: ṭa, Literal Chinese Meaning: ṭa). To the north, the section of "ta" symbolizing perception, is the realm of water. (Seed Syllable, Tibetan: ཏ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ta, Sanskrit Romanization: ta, Literal Chinese Meaning: ta). To the west of it, the section of "ta" symbolizing form and so on, is the realm of earth. (Seed Syllable, Tibetan: ཏ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ta, Sanskrit Romanization: ta, Literal Chinese Meaning: ta). Below, the section of "sa" symbolizing the realm of wisdom and so on, is the realm of wisdom. (Seed Syllable, Tibetan: ས, Sanskrit Devanagari: sa, Sanskrit Romanization: sa, Literal Chinese Meaning: sa). When these are united, it is the letter "e", the Dharmadhatu. (Seed Syllable, Tibetan: ཨེ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: e, Sanskrit Romanization: e, Literal Chinese Meaning: e). These five great empty letters are the collection of vowels, called semen and moon. The six bindu empty letters are the collection of consonants, called blood and sun. Here, semen and vajra are the letter "vam", which is vajra. (Seed Syllable, Tibetan: ཝཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: vam, Sanskrit Romanization: vam, Literal Chinese Meaning: vam). Blood and sun are the letter "e".

Is the lotus. Vajra and lotus, the unified speech (ངག་) of these is Vajrasattva. It is immutable, therefore it is Akshara (ཨ་ཀྵ་ར). The combination of the first and last of vowels and consonants is non-duality. Vajrasattva is also the four pure bodies of sleep and dreams, as well as wakefulness and the fourth state. The four bodies have four states to be purified, four yogas that purify, four pure manifest enlightenments, the fruit of speech is four wisdoms, the characteristic of speech is four liberations, and the nature of purity is four vajras. The co-emergent body is the liberation of emptiness, the completely pure wisdom vajra, omniscience, and the nature of skillful means and wisdom, called the completely pure yoga. The Dharmakaya is the liberation of signlessness, the completely pure mind vajra, the wisdom body and the nature of skillful means and wisdom, called the yoga of Dharma. The Sambhogakaya is the liberation of wishlessness, the completely pure speech vajra, the sun body and the nature of skillful means and wisdom, called the yoga of mantra. The Nirmanakaya is the liberation of non-manifest action, completely ༄། །The pure body vajra, eyes as wide as lotus petals, and the nature of skillful means and wisdom, are called the yoga of form. Therefore, the meaning of E-Vam (ཨེ་ཝཾ) is form and mantra, Dharma and Suchness, having four meanings. The six tantras, some explain these contents extensively, some briefly, and some very briefly. Therefore, the Vajradhatu mandala, initially, extensively explained the yoga of form. E (ཨེ་) is the palace, and Vam (ཝཾ) is the gods of the six realms. How is it accomplished? As said in the glorious Kalachakra: The essence of the wheel is the lord of men, one-third of the mandala. The remaining gods of the aggregates and elements, and again the outer layer are the eight goddesses such as Vajra Giti, residing in the outer wheel, definitely dwelling in the ten directions, the assembly of wrathful deities residing in the sun. Its walls and enclosures are surrounded by the four great water treasures.
