Also known as "Supreme Victory," meaning destroyed by the image of co-emergence. Such is the activity of the Buddha, guiding beings, who is the protector. Now, in order to show that all mind and mental events are of the nature of co-emergence, it is said, "Together with those who bow down." The word "bow" means to incline, descend, and fall. These first show the oral instructions of the lama, the words of a virtuous beginning. Now, in order to begin the discussion with respect for the teacher, it is said, "Thus Gone One, Blessed One, Perfect Buddha," and so on. Among these, the one who knows and understands the nature of reality as it is, and speaks of it as it is, is the Thus Gone One. The one who has the qualities of conquering the four maras is the Blessed One. The meaning of the word is connected with glory, fame, and so on. Furthermore, the distinction of the name is stated as "Perfect Buddha," the one who perfectly possesses the benefit of oneself and others is called that. "To" means the seventh case. Thus, to the teacher who possesses special qualities, repeatedly joining palms and prostrating is to be understood as being in a state of reverence of body, speech, and mind. "Sitting before him" means sitting in the place seen by the Blessed One, meaning not in a hidden place. Why is it that one is respectful and sits before him in this way? It is in order to make this request. As thought, "All-pervading Lord," and so on, is his request. Then, in order to show for what reason the discussion is begun, it is said, "Beneficial to me," and so on. "Me" is oneself. "Beneficial" is because it becomes the cause of happiness. Obtaining it oneself is for my benefit. Therefore, please think of me with compassion, and through the door of the means called the net of illusion, may I attain perfect enlightenment. Having thus prayed for one's own sake, now, in order to pray for the sake of others, it is said, "Afflictions disturb the mind," and so on.

These are desire, anger, pride, ignorance, views, and doubt, which are called the root afflictions; and anger, resentment, concealment, vexation, jealousy, stinginess, deceit, flattery, arrogance, harm, shamelessness, lack of embarrassment, torpor, excitement, lack of faith, laziness, recklessness, forgetfulness, distraction, and unwise attention, which are called the twenty secondary afflictions. The mind is the non-dual mind of enlightenment, luminous by nature. Disturbance is defilement by adventitious stains, caused by the former (afflictions). It is like an ocean stirred by waves. In order to show that it is devoid of the means to eliminate it, it is said, "Not knowing, sinking into the mud." Because ignorance completely obscures, one does not know the means to eliminate adventitious stains. For example, if one falls into a large swamp, those who are not skilled think that they can be liberated by their own efforts alone, but they will sink further because of it. What is that? It is "all sentient beings" and so on. Whoever is associated with the mind and various conceptual thoughts is a sentient being. "All" refers to all sentient beings belonging to the six realms. The method that was previously initiated for one's own benefit should be understood as being asked now for the benefit of all sentient beings. The doctor is to make the ignorant know and to deliver them from the swamp of samsara. In order to place this on a special result, it is said, "Unsurpassed fruit." "Unsurpassed" means that there is no fruit higher or more excellent than it, that is, the Great Vajradhara. To obtain it is to make it manifest. "For" means something to be done specifically, in short, it is imperative to obtain it. The excellence of the teacher

It is the way of accomplishing. Here, in order to lead desire and so on into that very path, there are the Tathagatas such as Amitabha. Therefore, the teacher is none other than Vajradhara himself. It is both a samaya and great, therefore it is a great samaya. No matter how many distinctions of lineage and afflictions are mentioned, they do not go beyond the great Vajradhara, therefore, it is great because it knows that very nature as one. The meaning of 'knowing that very nature' is also that. Thus, although one knows and comprehends that very nature in the ultimate sense, what about the distinctions in the conventional sense? It is said, 'By the supreme knower of faculties and thoughts.' It knows the supreme and non-supreme faculties, as well as the vast, small, and measured thoughts, which means it knows the order of the vessels of those to be tamed. Moreover, it is supreme because it knows it all at once. 'By' is a word in the third person, meaning that you know the knowledge with and without outflows. Now, in order to state what kind of special object is to be stated, it is said, 'The wisdom body of the Bhagavan.' 'Of' is a plural word that is not obvious, meaning that you alone know the wisdom body of the Buddhas, the Bhagavan, of the past, future, and present, which is endowed with supreme knowledge, and it is connected to the previous sentence. Therefore, that wisdom body is not commonly visible, just like the crown of the head of the Tathagata. Therefore, it is said, 'Great crown of the head,' which is both a crown of the head and great, therefore it is a great crown of the head. These show that the secret of the body, speech, and mind of all the Tathagatas is even more secret than the extremely secret, and it is an unspeakable uncommon dharma.
