Of the Five Bodies ༄། །It is said, "The Great Self." Because it is both Buddha and body, it is the Five Buddha Bodies. These are: the body of Vairochana, the body of Akshobhya, the body of Ratnasambhava, the body of Amitabha, and the body of Amoghasiddhi. "Self" means that the Buddha and the body itself are one. "Lord of the Pervasive Five Wisdoms" means that the five wisdoms pervade all things of self and others, therefore it is the Pervasive Lord. The Five Wisdoms are: the Mirror-like Wisdom, the Wisdom of Equality, the Wisdom of Discriminating Awareness, the Wisdom of Accomplishing Activities, and the Wisdom of the Dharmadhatu. "Self" refers to the Five Bodies just mentioned, and this is that, and cannot be spoken of as other, therefore it is self-nature. Therefore, the Five Buddhas are those with the self-nature crown, and each Tathagata also has the crown of five-five Tathagatas. These are wisdoms, and now to show the Dharmadhatu, it is said, "The Five Eyes hold non-attachment." "Eye" means the Buddha Eye. "Five" means Māmakī (मामकী, mamaki, literally: mine), White-robed Mother, Tara, Dharmadhatu Ishvari, etc. If you wonder what they do, it is said, "Hold non-attachment," which means to be in union with them in a non-attached manner. This is the Dharmadhatu, and from this the Tathagatas are born, that is the meaning. Then, in order to show the determination of the place of birth, it is said, "The generator of all Buddhas," etc. All Buddhas are those encompassed by time, direction, and lineage, being both Buddha and all. "Generator" means born from the Five Eyes of the Dharmadhatu nature. What is birth? It is said, "The Supreme Noble Buddha-child," being both Buddha and child, therefore it is the Buddha-child. Thus, the Buddha himself is the child, because he is born from the Dharmadhatu. Therefore, it is noble and supreme. "Knowing" is the middle part of the sentence that is hidden, which is wisdom. What is born from that is without a place of rebirth in samsara, it is the place of origin of samsara.

English

Or the four places of birth, namely, womb-born, egg-born, moisture-born, and transformation-born. The term "without" means not arising from those. Again, in order to show this more clearly, it is said: "Arising from the Dharma, eliminating existence." Here, "Dharma" refers to the Dharmadhatu. Arising from that is to produce. Therefore, "The wisdom body is self-born" is also understood from that. It eliminates existence, that is, it eliminates what arises from the four places of birth. Therefore, it is "The sole, solid, vajra lord." The term "sole" refers to the self-born body. Because it cannot be destroyed or broken by others, it is like a vajra, hence it is called that. "The lord who walks immediately after birth" refers to the one who, immediately after arising from the Dharmadhatu, takes hold of and controls all that is encompassed by the four places of birth, is the lord who walks in the world. Or it is the body free from attachment, because it arises in the four places of birth, making it conform to beings, hence it is called "the lord who walks immediately after birth." "Born from space, self-born" means that space refers to being of the same nature as space, that is, the Dharmadhatu. Arising from that is called the self-born body. These refer to the master of the wisdom body, the self-born one. The emanation body is in order to subdue all four places of birth, and in order to conform to beings, he himself also arises from all four places of birth. Now, in order to show the difference in appearance, it is said, "Wisdom, awareness, great fire," and so on. Wisdom and awareness are inseparable, like fire, which illuminates and burns the accumulation of afflictions. Because the appearance of body and awareness arises from luminosity, it is the manifestation of great light. Because it is self-manifest, it is the manifestation of awareness. "Lam me wa" means clear.

Because it pervades everything, it is luminosity. Now, in order to show the difference in activities, it is said, "Supreme mantra possessor, king of knowledge mantras," and so on. Like that, it is also the rule of mantra, not the rule of others, so it is the supreme mantra. "Possessor of power, king of knowledge mantras" refers to such a Vajradhara. Or the supreme mantra is non-dual wisdom, protecting the mind, hence it is a mantra. Therefore, it is the possessor of power, the king of knowledge mantras. With the light of body and wisdom, accomplishing the deeds of sentient beings, hence it is said, "Secret mantra king performs great deeds." "Great crown jewel, rare crown" refers to, it is both a crown jewel and great, so it is the great crown jewel, which is the Dharmadhatu. Manifesting from that, hence it is the rare crown jewel. In order to clearly show that point, it is said, "Lord of the sky manifests various." The lord of the sky is the self, being in accordance with the Dharma of the sky. "Manifests various" refers to, from the manifestation of the wisdom body born from that, the various bodies and wisdom arise inexhaustibly. "All Buddhas" refers to, it is both Buddha and all, so it is all Buddhas, which includes the three times. "Supreme of body" refers to, for as long as the Buddhas of the three times appear, for that long the light of the body is manifested. "All beings" refers to, it is both beings and all, so it is all beings, which is the six realms. "Eye of joy" refers to holding the form that is liked, which is to make the eyes of all beings joyful. In order to clearly show that point, it is said, "Various ༄། །Creator of forms." It means, because it manifests the form that all beings like, therefore it is said to be the creator. Like that, the upright sage of living beings refers to those who are upright in mind and speak frankly, which are the Buddhas, the Bhagavad. "Offering and remembrance" refers to praising or extolling the greatness of the one named Vairochana, the non-dual luminosity. The three families refer to secret mantra, knowledge mantra, and dharani mantra. Or, it is explained that from the families of body, speech, and mind, a hundred families and so on arise. The holder of secret mantra, this is its rule.
