The Bhagavan, in the chapter on the practice of the King of Tantras, declared in two hundred and twenty-four verses: Fire is the enemy of mercury; if separated from fire, mercury is not bound. If not bound, it cannot make gold; if separated from gold, the poor have no enjoyment. Likewise, if separated from union with a woman, the minds of yogis are never bound. If there is no binding, there is no piercing of the body; a body that has not been pierced cannot give rise to innate bliss here. Thus, as mercury flees when touched by fire, so it is bound by the fire of skillful means. Likewise, when the source of phenomena is touched, the mind of enlightenment flees, but if it is possessed of skillful means, it can be bound. Just as fire binds mercury and turns all iron into gold, so too, by binding the mind of enlightenment with the union of the source of phenomena, the aggregates, elements, sense bases, and so forth are made without obscuration. Therefore, the power of mercury and the mind of enlightenment is not to be investigated, for fools cannot analyze it. Therefore, in order to make the mind of enlightenment firm, in the union of action seals, the visualization of the deity is also well taught, like the fumigation of mercury and kalpas, and so forth. Thus, the Tathagata did not teach that eating the mind of enlightenment that has entered the lotus of animalistic action is the way. The Bhagavan, in the fifth chapter of the King of Tantras, declared in seventy-three verses the practice of action seals and so forth, as follows: For the sake of increasing the innate bliss of the Victorious Ones, one should first rely on the action seal. Thereafter, the form of the sun, the body, face, feet, crown, and all limbs are complete. Like a lightning bolt, in accordance with the unwavering, bliss-generating mother, perfectly endowed with characteristics and limbs. The mother illuminated by the vajras, the abode of the three realms, the body is the sphere of reality, and then it transforms. Furthermore, in that same chapter, in one hundred and thirteen verses, it is said: It is merely the appearance of the mind, born in one's own mind, like the reflection in a mirror.

It is like an image. All that is relied upon by all the sons of the Buddhas and the Buddhas, and should be taught by the yogi who is the master, the flame of wisdom is extremely blazing, it burns all the hosts of demons and their retinues, and attachment to the body, etc., also gives equal bliss to the yogis through the union of years, this is the determination of the Bhagavan. Therefore, by entering into equipoise of the two faculties, one can also abandon the easily changing pleasure born from the external faculties, and until the ultimate of enlightenment, the yogi should meditate on the Great Seal, which is merely the appearance of one's own mind. If the Tathagata does not have the aggregates, elements, and sense bases, then being separated from the union of the two faculties will not become wisdom, primordial wisdom, and self-awareness, because it is immutable. Then, how can the yogi make his own mind attached to the appearance of his own mind, thereby making his own mind without obscuration, and also enjoy the unchanging great bliss wisdom? Because there is no body composed of aggregates of atoms. This itself is a reversal, just like Lhasbyin riding on his own shoulders to go to town. Here, some people may have such thoughts, so it needs to be explained. Here, what the ignorant say is that apart from the aggregates, elements, and sense bases composed of aggregates of atoms, merely relying on mind will not become wisdom, primordial wisdom, and self-awareness, this is not true, because it is due to the power of sudden mental imprints. Here, what is called aggregates, elements, and sense bases are sudden mental imprints. Relying on it, the mind will strongly feel the sensations of happiness and suffering, but if analyzed from the ultimate point of view, there is no subtle harm to this body. Here, the body composed of aggregates of atoms completely collapses and exists in the dream state, and for those who strongly feel suffering in their minds, there is no subtle harm whatsoever. This is widely known throughout the world, that is, in that state, the body of mental imprints.

Moreover, it clearly appears to go to another place, being separated from the collection of subtle particles. When that body, having gone to another place, is harmed by thieves and the like, that harm causes extreme suffering in the mind, and that suffering torments. Without a body and without thieves and the like, the self-awareness of the mind's suffering is extremely intense. This is truly amazing! Similarly, in dreams, those who indulge in great desires experience extreme happiness in their minds. Without a body and without those who indulge in great desires, the self-awareness of the happiness in the minds of sentient beings is extremely intense. That itself is wondrous! Even this fleeting awareness cannot be fully analyzed by the wise. How much less can the self-awareness of a yogi, which transcends the habits of samsara and arises from the habits of nirvana, the unchanging great bliss wisdom of Kuntuzangpo (Samantabhadra), be discriminated by the ignorant? If the heretics, with evil minds, who delight in the very nature of the life-breath, say here that in the dream state, there is breathing in and out in the body which is the nature of the aggregation of subtle particles, and that it is by the power of those breaths that one changes into the three states, but not without breathing in and out. Then, this needs to be analyzed. Here, if it is said that without breathing in and out, there is no dream state in the mind, then how can the mind clearly appear for an hour in the state of death and fainting, without breathing in and out? By the command of the King of Yama, the messengers of Yama carry away the body, and the city of Yama clearly appears.
