The five-faced and six-faced deities are the five immutable great emptinesses and the six immutable empty bindus. Again, the gathering of these interdependent aspects is the twenty-two-faced deity, which is certain. Now, the purification of the faces, etc., is explained in terms of the division of time, which is called 'periods.' Here, it is certain that 'the Blessed One is Vajradhara during the day, and wisdom is widely known at night.' From midnight to noon, the periods are divided, and according to the division of hours, it is eight-armed. Similarly, from noon to midnight, wisdom is also four-faced and eight-armed. Equal washing refers to the middle parts of the day and night. Unequal refers to the morning and afternoon periods. Among these, due to the decrease and increase of day and night, in some cases, the day increases, and the Blessed One is five-faced and ten-armed, and the Blessed Mother is three-faced and six-armed. When the night increases, the Blessed Mother is five-faced, and the Blessed One is three-faced, and so on. This is said to be accomplished, and it is one of the purifications of the Wheel of Time.
