The pit is round. For increase, it is square; for destruction, it is the shape of a bow; for differentiation, it is pentagonal; for power, it is triangular; for summoning, it is heptagonal; for delusion, it is hexagonal; for rigidity, it is octagonal. The characteristics of these will be explained in detail in the fire offering ritual to be described in the future. Now, the signs of the hearth pit are described. Here, in the center of the lotus of the round hearth pit, the sign is a lotus. For the square one, it is a wheel; for the bow shape, it is a curved knife; for the pentagon, it is a sword; for the triangle, it is an arrow; for the heptagon, it is a vajra hook; for the hexagon, delusion is a snake; for the octagon, it is an iron lock. Here, the signs of the two hearth pits are reversed due to the power of the combination of categories, which is the determination of the signs. The measurements of these are said to be one, and so on; the round one is one cubit. The square one is two cubits, the bow shape is half a cubit, the pentagon is the size of the round one, the triangle is twenty fingers, the heptagon is forty fingers, the hexagon is thirty fingers, and the octagon is sixty fingers. Half the size of the hearth pit is the depth. One-sixth of the hearth pit is the opening. One-twelfth of the hearth pit is the mouth. The edge of the sign is also completely at the opening. The lotus petals outside are for pacification and calming. The remaining activities will be described separately outside the wall. Alternatively, for all activities, know that the center of the hearth pit is the vajra sign. Now, to explain the purpose of driving stakes into the ground, the stakes are described. Here, for the purpose of driving stakes in the ten directions, for pacification, it is a stake of the banyan tree (Nyagrodha). For increase, it is a different Bodhi tree (Ashvattha); for destruction, it is the nature of bone; for expulsion, it is iron; for power, it is born from sandalwood; for summoning, it is born from the mango tree (Cuta); for delusion, it is born from the milkweed (Arka); for rigidity, it is born from the bael tree (Bilva). These are the determinations of the stakes; for all activities, it is born from the fig tree (Udumbara). Now, the vase is described. For pacification, it is a glass vase. For increase, it is of silver. For destruction, it is a human skull. For expulsion and differentiation, it is of iron. For power, it is of gold. For summoning, it is of copper. For rigidity, it is of earth nature. For delusion, it is born from wood.

These are the ten vases. Then, for the purpose of pacifying and increasing, the characteristics of the vase are explained. Here, the round belly of the vase is said to be eight twos of fingers, that is, sixteen fingers. Multiplying ten by two for the height means that from below the belly of the vase to the edge of the mouth and lips is twenty fingers, which is the height. Lips of two fingers, that is, those whose lips hang down two fingers, those are the lips of two fingers. From the edge of the mouth to the neck is six fingers. Eight fingers is the mouth, that is, from lip to lip, the mouth is eight fingers. Divide the eight fingers into three parts, two parts are the hole of the neck. One part is the width of the two lips. Moreover, the white vase like the moon is for pacifying and increasing, and it is not applicable to others. If there are no crystal and silver vases, then use black or rootless earthen vases, coat them with white sandalwood or sandalwood to make them white. Similarly, in the Root Tantra, the Bhagavan also said: For killing, use a human skull, coat it with the ashes of charcoal from the cemetery and human oil to make it black. For expulsion and separation, the neck is long eight fingers, curved, the body is thin, round twelve fingers, the height is twenty-four fingers, the lip is one finger, and the mouth is six fingers. For subjugation and attraction, according to worldly terms, it is made by craftsmen. For stiffening, it is thick and short, round and equal in height, sixteen fingers, the neck is four fingers, the mouth is six fingers, and the lips are thick two fingers. The determination of the vase, that is, for all activities, what is said for activities such as pacifying and subjugating should be upheld, this is the determination. Now, starting from "morning" etc., the times for pacifying etc. are explained. Here, each day has eight periods starting from the morning, which are the periods. Among these periods, the first period is for pacifying, the second period is for increasing, the third period is for killing, the fourth period is for expelling, the fifth period is for subjugating, the sixth period is for attracting, the seventh period is for bewildering, and the eighth period is for stiffening. This is for pacifying etc., the periods will change. Similarly, in half of each of its periods, that is, the first half of the morning period is for pacifying, and the second half is for increasing, and it is the same in all times.
