Now, in order to be the cause of worldly and transcendental accomplishments, the secret instruction for protecting the body is taught, beginning with "first." In this cycle of existence, the bodies of sentient beings arise through the process of gathering life and downward cleansing, and they enter through the process of increasing. Just as the Blessed One said in the abbreviated empowerment of the root tantra: "In the navel lotus, heart, throat, forehead, and crown, earth, water, fire, wind, and space, by gathering, descend intensely. That which arises is the entering. By increasing, it enters the earth." Similarly, the power of downward cleansing: "In the navel, secret, and jewel lotus, body, speech, and mind descend. Arising and entering, possessing the nature of gathering and increasing." Thus, because of that cause, first, the body of all victors, that is, the body of the five aggregates and so forth, is the cause of accomplishment, and should be properly protected by mantra practitioners and so forth. Without a body, there is no accomplishment, and in this life, supreme bliss, that is, uncontaminated bliss, cannot be attained. Therefore, for the sake of the body's purpose, that is, the body's purpose is bodhicitta, in order to protect it, one should meditate on the union of the channels at each time of day and night. The union of Lalana (藏文，梵文天城体：ललना，梵文罗马拟音：lalanā，汉语字面意思：拉拉那) and Rasana (藏文，梵文天城体：रसना，梵文罗马拟音：rasanā，汉语字面意思：拉萨那) is the union of the channels, that is, one should meditate on the life-force wind in the central channel. The union of the channels of excrement and urine, downward cleansing, is marrow. At the times of day and night, in the twelve time unions, one should meditate on this union of the channels. By meditating on this, the body is accomplished, that is, when the body is accomplished, other worldly accomplishments, that is, becoming a servant, becoming extremely a servant, that is, worldly accomplishments.
