Wisdom is intelligence, and ignorance is the beginningless habit of attachment of sentient beings here. It causes one to indulge in attachment, and attachment also changes. From change arises detachment, and what is called detachment is hatred. The nature of hatred is fainting, and what is called fainting is delusion. Therefore, the nature of attachment, hatred, and delusion is ignorance, but it is not a garland of sky flowers. What is called ignorance is affliction. From ignorance arises action, which is karma. From action arises consciousness, which is suffering, this is the body, speech, and mind of the first small stage. Then from consciousness arises name and form, which is affliction. From name and form arise the six sense sources, which is karma. From the six sense sources arises contact, which is suffering, this is the body, speech, and mind of the second intermediate stage. Then from contact arises feeling, which is affliction. From feeling arises craving, which is karma. From craving arises grasping, which is suffering, this is the body, speech, and mind of the third great stage. Then from grasping arises existence, which is affliction. From existence arises birth, which is karma. From birth arises old age and death, which is suffering, this is the body, speech, and mind of the fourth greatest stage. Therefore, the four natures of body, speech, mind, and wisdom are connected to the three seasons such as Capricorn, namely the distinctions of womb, door, and outer environment. Among them, the month in which people conceive is Capricorn and ignorance, which is the womb. The second month is Aquarius and action, which is the door. The third month is Pisces and consciousness, which is the outer environment, the nature of these three months is the small stage of those born from the womb. Then the fourth month is Aries and name and form, which is the womb. The fifth month is Taurus and the six sense sources, which is the door. The sixth month is Gemini and contact, which is the outer environment, the nature of these three months is the intermediate stage. Then the seventh month is Cancer and feeling, which is the womb. The eighth month is Leo and craving, which is the door. The ninth month is Virgo and grasping, which is the outer environment, these three months

Its self-nature is the state of the third great one. Then the tenth month is the measure and existence, that is, the womb. The eleventh month is sin and birth, that is, the door. The twelfth month is the bow and old age and death, that is, the outer realm. The self-nature of the so-called three months is the state of the great among the great. Thus, the distinction between body, speech, mind, and wisdom, that is, the first of wisdom is the small state, and the fourth of the body should be known. The Blessed One, in the fifth chapter of wisdom of the King of Tantras, spoke in one hundred and seventy verses as follows: Karma arises from afflictions, and from that it turns into suffering, and afflictions themselves are one's own suffering. This is wandering in the wheel of samsara, with cause and effect being equal, and there are no other sentient beings. From emptiness, the dharmas of the aggregates, here at the end of death, those too are emptiness. It can be known by katun, lamp, water and flower, sound and burning glass, sourness, and seeds, that is, by these metaphors of katun and so on, the arising and ceasing of the aggregates can be known. Just as in katun, the teacher's wisdom is not exhausted, and the student has not not attained it. Likewise, a lamp arises from a lamp. In water, too, a moon arises from a moon, a flower leaves fragrance on clothes, sunlight causes fire in a burning glass, sound produces echo, sourness causes the tongue to salivate, and a seed produces a sprout. Likewise, the connection of the aggregates is due to the power of the habit of changing desire. Because of the words of the Blessed One, the wheel of samsara is changing desire, that is, ignorance. Here, when changing desire decays, then it becomes supremely unchanging, and the supremely unchanging is great desire. From great desire, detachment decays, and what is called detachment is hatred. When hatred is exhausted, it becomes great hatred. From great hatred, fainting, that is, the decay of delusion. When delusion decays, it becomes great delusion. From great desire and great hatred and great delusion, the self-nature of desire and hatred and delusion, ignorance, decays. When ignorance is exhausted, it becomes great ignorance. Thus, ignorance.
