On the crown, establish the syllable Om (Tibetan: ཨོཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओ, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Om), and the wheel of endless emptiness, etc. On the forehead, establish the syllable I (Tibetan: ཨི, Sanskrit Devanagari: इ, Sanskrit Romanization: i, Chinese literal meaning: I), and the wheel of the guardians of the directions. On the throat, establish the syllable Ri (Tibetan: རྀ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ऋ, Sanskrit Romanization: ṛ, Chinese literal meaning: Ri), and the wheel of the planets. Pray to her, from the outside, for the place of the earth, please purify it as desired. Here, the prayer is: The Victorious One, together with the lord of the gods, has destroyed the demons, goddess, you have become empowered. Therefore, you are to be worshiped, please drink, gods of the gods, please drink, this is my offering. Having praised in this way, one should pray to her, just as the Victorious One, for the sake of enlightenment, has completely destroyed even the powerful hosts of demons. Likewise, I, in order to empower the disciples, should also cause the demons to decline, because you have become empowered. Then, having made the offerings that will be explained to the Buddhas and others, and having offered offerings, etc., one should pray. Here, the prayer is: Whoever are the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in all directions, free from faults, together with their consorts. Please, with the supreme compassion of those, for the sake of empowerment in the mandala, please protect me. Having prayed to all of them, one should drive pegs of hard acacia wood into the ground, according to the order that will be explained, this is the certainty of the prayer. The wrathful ones with weapons, etc., as spoken of in this way, should drive pegs into the ground in the ten directions, and establish them for the sake of protection, this is certain. If dirt definitely enters, it will hinder virtuous deeds, therefore purification is necessary. Dirt is human bones or together with charcoal. Charcoal or horns are generally things that cause fear of death for virtuous deeds, and they will be completely damaged in those places, therefore here it should be purified by the power of merit.
