Now, I shall explain the path of particularly abiding. Regarding letters, it was asked, "From the nature of emptiness, how can letters be composed?" In response, it is said, "The nature of emptiness is represented like the nectar of the water-tree's sweet fruit." This means that the mind symbolizes emptiness, which is considered the universal understanding of all divine letters. For example, just as a water-tree has no core, yet its fruit tastes sweet, similarly, letters have no essence, but the bliss of emptiness that arises from them becomes the essence. Someone might ask, "Having generated the bliss of the assembly wheel, it is sufficient to meditate on emptiness, so why is it necessary to meditate on letters?" Indeed, that is so, but for those yogis who are strongly attached to artificial mandalas in the action and performance tantras, entering this tantra is because they are strongly attached to letters, so the meaning of letters is explained. The vajra without limbs is said to awaken the awareness of the bliss of emptiness. "The consciousness of the center is wisdom." This means that in the center of the body, consciousness exists in the three joys and the wisdom of great bliss, abiding without thought in the clear light nature of wisdom, which has no form of letters and is beyond designator and designated. It is the sign of no sign, the immaculate wisdom body. It is also liberated from things by the emptiness of phenomena and self, and experiences remain like illusions, liberated from non-things. Although there is no form of the five letters, the yogi should fix the mind on the bliss that abides without thought from experience and emptiness. "With the mind of equality, having known the nature as it is." This means that by uniting equally with any karma mudra, etc., having known the nature as it is, based on experience, it is known from the guru's instructions that this will become the path to perfect enlightenment. How does one go to the path of perfect enlightenment? Arousing from conceptual thought, the mind creates virtuous and non-virtuous actions, accumulating merit and non-merit; arousing from non-conceptual bliss, creating unwavering actions that go between meditative states and the formless realm, up to the peak of existence; and experiencing great bliss.
