The combination of upward and downward elimination of bonds makes stable and moving things not move. Here, the stable ones are the five aggregates. The moving ones are the ten winds, such as life force. Relying on it, the fleeting discriminations of all phenomena, both worldly and transcendental, with various names arise. By placing their signified meanings into the Avadhuti and stopping it, one obtains fruits such as cause and effect. Through the Karma Mudra, Dharma Mudra, Wisdom Mudra, and the fruit of the Mahamudra, it is also shown through the distinction of the four wheels being explained. Thus, the manifested form, the Rupakaya, is the nature of the three realms. The so-called characteristic refers to how some individuals here see signs through the stages of meditation that attain Samadhi. Similarly, here too, it is seen that by the power of the emanations of the Buddhas, like the tip of a lamp flame, it arises relying on external phenomena. Its activity, for the benefit of sentient beings, by the power of past aspirations, now possesses various characteristics. 'Consciousness is wisdom thought.' This means that these characteristics of all phenomena arise from the Sambhogakaya, because it is said to be wisdom thought. Similarly, here wisdom is the Sahajakaya, the co-emergent body. Thought refers to the characteristic of the Dharmakaya. The equipoise of wisdom and skillful means is said to be the Sambhogakaya. The previously mentioned proximate cause, by its power, generates what is called consciousness. Therefore, the Bhagavan is accomplished, possessing the signified, the signifier, and the characteristics. Alternatively, the signified is the Dharmakaya. The signifier is the Sambhogakaya. The characteristic is the Nirmanakaya, and therefore, in order to do what benefits sentient beings, it shows the nature of body, speech, and mind, which is the Tathagatagarbha. Now, for sentient beings abiding in the Dharma of the individual, the difference between the grasper and the grasped, which are without the characteristics of wisdom and objects of knowledge, is explained. 'With wisdom, one sees the knowable; with the knowable, one measures beings,' and so on. 'With wisdom' refers to the eye and so forth.

The consciousness arising from the sense bases is called the object-possessor. Therefore, that which it perceives, such as external forms, is to be regarded as the knowable. "The traveler examines" means that the perception of the senses examines the objects seen. This is the meaning of the equal absorption of consciousness and the knowable. "Going" means engaging in going elsewhere. What is that? The discriminating mind makes self-pleasure, etc., become the path. So it is said. "Thinking" means becoming a mental object. "Discrimination" means seeing with its own nature, which is due to previous habitual tendencies. "Self-desire, etc." means following one's own karma. The word "etc." means that the actions done by the sense bases such as the eye are what cause the going. "Path" means that it should be traveled on that path, so it is called that. Or else, by wisdom, that is, by the alaya-consciousness. "Looking at the knowable" means that the eye, etc., look at the blue, yellow, etc., aspects of the external objects. "The knowables" means all those things. "Going" means that the alaya-consciousness enters into them. "Seeing" means pervading by seeing through the power of the divine eye, which is the meaning of seeing the three realms. That is also said to be a mental object with the nature of one and many, which is due to many habitual tendencies. Going is its movement, that is, seeing the different individual things. Therefore, according to one's own desires and one's own karma, one enters the path, travels on the path, etc., and relies on it, which is the meaning of clinging. Thus, one with virtuous karma, relying on the two truths, is accomplished by the power of meeting a good virtuous friend. Among what was said earlier, some are the meaning of being accomplished by virtue. However, it will be explained in between in the manner that is being explained. Now, from the order of the body of emptiness previously mentioned, the suchness of the method of cultivating the mind of enlightenment will be explained. Regarding the five wisdoms, etc., here, the nature of the five wisdoms is the five tathagatas or the five elements. That is, life, etc.
