The term "Great Secret" in places like the earth refers to concealment. The root tantra is the Dharmakaya, and for the sake of the fruit, it is the Jnanakaya, that is the meaning. "Through this" refers to through cause and effect. "One with oral instructions" means that the true guru has shown the meaning of this in an extensive manner. From "collecting mantras" etc. up to "the characteristics of empowerment" is easy to understand. This is a brief explanation. The word "etc." includes activity sets etc. and sadhana. "Oral instruction" refers to explaining from the path of the Tathagata, away from Sadabu, dreams, sleep, and the four states. "The nature of wisdom and means" refers to from the words spoken in that way to complete perfection. The beginning is the tantra of the nature of wisdom and means, emptiness, and the dharma of the nature of compassion. "Tantra" refers to means, here it refers to a collection of texts. Similarly, the union of wisdom and means itself is called "union," which is the meaning of the means tantra. That is also the emanation body of the Buddhas. "That is what I have said" means that I, Shakyamuni, have spoken the tantra of union. "Listen" means that in order to allow bodhisattvas such as Vajragarbha to enter the characteristics that I have emanated, it is said "listen" for the sake of future beings. This word is the determination of the Tathagata. That is, first, through showing emptiness, in order to show the bodhi of emptiness to beings. First contemplate emptiness. It says "through this" etc. Here, all beings are bound to samsara by the six consciousnesses and the reality of what is grasped and what grasps. In order to completely exhaust these, first contemplate emptiness, in order to pervade universally, the nature of all dharmas, emptiness with all aspects, without appearance, un-indicatable, without discrimination, without form, the nature of dharma without self, contemplate in that way. "Wash away the defilements of embodied beings" means that because the body is innate, it is of embodied beings. Burn the defilements of ignorance with the fire of emptiness, and the previous

It means to wash away the stains of habitual imprints from lifetimes of existence. "The realm of form" refers to emptiness. By showing that the six sense bases are also emptiness with one and a half verses such as "The realm of form is empty," one will become a noble being of the Tathagata. The term "realm of form" is established in the initial sense. Therefore, all forms are empty. Similarly, the realms of sound, smell, taste, touch, and mind should also be made empty. This is in the manner of supplication and the Tathagata's words of response. What is said here is the meaning of Vajragarbha's supplication. What is supplicated? The supplication is from "the nature of the eye" etc., up to the three verses ending with "how does consciousness transform in the center?" which is the meaning of the six consciousnesses abiding in the six sense bases. "How does it transform" means in what way does it transform. Because the nature of external and internal form, sound, smell, taste, touch, and mind is empty. However, children are obscured by sudden stains, and due to the causes of grasping and being grasped, etc., by the power of the habitual imprints of previous lives, deluded consciousness arises towards things like pots, cloths, and carts. From this, discriminating consciousness arises, and also from the senses such as the eye. It is precisely because of this ignorance that one is bound to samsara. It is also precisely because those with wisdom fully understand, that delusion completely ceases, and thus liberation is attained. Not only is liberation attained, but the six superknowledges are also attained. Therefore, the one and a half verses beginning with "formless" etc., because they are connected to the previous words, are the meaning of causing faith in Vajragarbha himself. Because consciousness is formless, unshowable, unimpeded, without appearance, indiscernible, inconceivable, immeasurable, inexpressible, unobservable, without discrimination, without senses, etc., therefore it should be seen as separate from manifest constructs. However, it appears like a rainbow, because the Buddhas are illusory appearances.
